Yesterday - My Bloody Valentine 3-D opened on 2,534 screens.

The first US wide release film shot primarily on RED. And the first 3D RED movie in theatrical release.

Too early to get BO numbers from last night - but you track HERE

Reviews are mostly negative, but this is standard on horror fare - I still expect the film to do $25 million this weekend - and be in the top 3 at the box office.

Hi Mark . As i sow on pictures RIG was p+s technik ?
Also i have main question about 3D :) What was follow focus , for 2 cameras , Was it motion control FF module. Because you need to change focus on 2 cameras in super sync.
And also what Lenses did you use ?
Also i like idea with 2 RED monitors = 1 3d monitor :) . Where you get rig for it :)
Thanks.

Yesterday - My Bloody Valentine 3-D opened on 2,534 screens.

The first US wide release film shot primarily on RED.

Significant portions were shot using the Silicon Imaging 2K. It is fair to say, however, that it is the first 3D picture to be released that was done with compressed RAW files throughout. "The Dark Country" is another 3D live action picture yet to be released that used much of the same equipment choices and methodology.

Hey Mark,

I am there with you this movie is extremely important to the future of 3D and support of RED. Two new or revitalized items. I expect this film to go on par with the last really solid horror film, I can last recall which was Dawn of the Dead 04'

People may disagree with me but frankly this is a really good horror film that gets back to the roots of what makes horror fun, and gives you a pretty solid plot that will keep you guessing CSI style. I saw this movie on Thursday at the 10:30pm early screening here in Chicago, the theater was packed!!

It did feel like the the interocular was locked though most of the film.

As far as reviews go....for a horror film I'd hardly say they are bad, infact overall I'd say they are good.

Right now it has a 70% on Rotten Tomatoes giving it a ratting of Fresh.

MBV:3D Rotten Tomatoes Review

Last point, to be frank 3D or not RED or not what this film has going for it is that it is good movie, its fun to watch, It has its solid share of horror, action and mystery.

Go see it.....

congrats Mark.. Don King will be glad to know it.. count on it!

Well some feedback. I went and saw this film twice already. On Thursday night at 10:30pm keep in mind I am in Chicago and its cold right now like floating close to 0 degrees. The theater was almost full....nearing that 80% plus feel. I went and saw it again on Sunday first showing of the day at 11:50am not as packed but about 50%. 3D films are successful due to low to no fall off the following week. Lets see if this one follows that trend. Granted i'm pretty sure this one is already making money.

Shot here in Pittsburgh....the word is they really could have used the Red Ram for the chopper shots!

I hope the movie does well!

Dave

Watched it last night and much to my dismay it did'nt feature the "Shot on RED" badge but a KODKA Motion Picture Film logo at the end of the credits...

Was it done well?

Is it worth seeing?

Thanks
Dave
