Moving away from MacOS - sort of... and I have a question about game demos

My desktop computer is a trashcan Mac Pro. It's the best desktop computer ever designed. And, it's American made, too.

But... as far as MacBooks go, no thank you. Not only are they made in China, they don't have enough ports. Remember when Apple laptops had all the ports? So, for the desktop, I am most likely staying with MacOS. But for laptops? No.

I just got a low end Fujitsu laptop, and it's made in Japan, like all their laptops AFAIK. I do not like Windows, but then again, that's the only license fee I'll ever be paying to Microsoft so it's fine. I can also install Linux, which I will be doing later on. Anyway, I can run anything on Windows - games, Resolve, Blender, DxO Photo Lab, what have you.

So here is the question: I'm not much of a PC gamer. Any games I do play, save for Day of Defeat (an online FPS), are on consoles which is my preferred platform. But, I wouldn't mind installing some game demos on the Windows laptop just for casual fun. So, is there a single repository for those? I did try a search once but it doesn't seem like many games even have demos. Which is a shame, because these days there is an infinite number of PC configurations, and you need to know how the game will perform before you buy it. Anyway, any pointers would be helpful.

I have a Steam account but you can't get demos from there.

Wonder what % of internal componentry in the Trash Can and consoles are made in China....85%?

Um why not get a Mac Studio?

It's the replacement basically for the trashscan.

Because he wants a portable and thinks the new MBPs don't have enough ports (he's not looking to replace his trashcan)...

As for PC games there's a whole section on Steam dedicated to demos and free-to-play. Also, not sure which GPU is in the Fuji, but if it's decent, take a peak at Valley of the Ancients for a quick glimpse of what UE5 can do. Even at standard definition it's a step above previous generation graphics (and ultimately what will be used for the majority of virtual production).
