I just got a few Quasar tubes and they are fantastic. Just wondering how you guys are mounting them to c stands or anywhere else. I'd love to hear some tips or tricks on how to get the most out of these.
Thanks.

The best - https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/161307-REG/Matthews_420110_Matthellini_Clamp_2.html

They are light enough too though...so you could easily use gaff tape or zip ties too.

Thanks Chris. Yeah gaff will definitely be used to mount these all over the place. lol.
I have a bunch of those clamps too. I'll try that. Was wondering if there was anything else out there specifically for this. I figured the clamp might damage the fixture over time but I guess if you just don't wrench them down too tight it should be fine.

Hey I just checked out these tubes, supercool! I was looking at the color adjustable 4ft. Seems really inexpensive, do you like the color and light quality?

So far yes. I have not done a ton of testing yet but they are very bright and the quality of light seems excellent to my eye. They are also built very well. I got a couple of the 2 foot daylight/tungsten switchable lights. I have a feeling I will be using these a lot and probably getting more down the road.

I'm out to lunch and on the phone, but there's also a single Kino clamp w/ baby pin that's around $30 that works great.

you can also get a kino shell and use them in there, i think thats what im going to do.
where did you buy your tubes?

Atlanta gaffer Dan Cornwall first turned me onto these for one of my Alvin movies and I have used them ever since. I believe Dan and Schwartzman used a ton of them on The Founder which looks amazing.

That's what I am considering too. i wanted to get a few small ones to test out first and I am more than happy with them so far. It's very cool to have the flexibility of placing them in a Kino body and than if you just need a single bulb to hide away somewhere, just pop it out and power it up.

I got a quote through quasarscience directly and than they redirected me to someone at Barbizon here in NY who handled the processing of the payment and shipment. It's a bit of a cumbersome order process if you ask me but they are worth it and the price is not bad at all considering the quality.

The 2 foot daylight/tungsten switchable units were $150 each. With shippping and tax I paid about $360 for the 2.

Yea...the tubes are amazing and are incredible color accurate. Light and fast to deploy too.

totally agree. I've been using these for a while now.. the NEW ones are incredible.

those baby pin clips are awesome. these lights are light enough to grip to ceilings and stuff too. they also fit in standard Kino Fixtures

Just received 4ft color dial version. This thing is so cool, totally gonna buy more

Hey folks - I'm considering retrofitting my Kinoflo Divas to Quasar Science lamps. How do they match up with other sources, color accuracy, etc.? I'm leaning toward Crossfades in order to get 4300 capability - something the Switch (3000/5600-only) versions don't offer. Excuse the posts in multiple forums - trying to reach as broad of an audience as possible.

Has anyone here done the Diva conversion? I have 2 that are prime targets for this...
