Has anyone done any MOCO (MILO, FALCON) work with EPIC?

Any specific issues?

Anyone used high frame rates.

Got a job coming up and I'm looking to avoid any traps.

Are you doing multi passes? if so it's possible to fire the Epic with frame sync at half the max frame rete. This was never possible with R1-

Here a great trick: Fire you cam before the beginning of your move (so record your move playback to start as still/nothing for at least ten seconds), but always fire in synch with the same spot (i.e., still at exactly the same time as firing the beginning of the move). That way if motion move playback is slow to start, or cam is slow to get into Rec mode, for whatever reason, you still get your take, and the worst it could be off is 1/48th of a second, which may not even show depending on how things are layered. You never know when the best take might happen...

Bloop Light!

I've done several MOCO shoots with my RED ONE and no problem really.

But I've heard that the EPIC does NOT sync properly and that this caused magor problems on the HOBBIT.

We've always just genlocked the REDONE and the RIG to tri-level but this time client wants to shoot at 72 or 96 FPS

1/48 error will ruin many multi pass shots, just like with 3D sync is vital. It depends hugely on the type of move / Speed / quality of end result.
If you do it the way I say every take is exactly the same length, just like 35mm!

If you have shutter sync you can shoot at different frame rates & speed ramp in camera, all takes will fit .......
