I'm still on Mavericks, since I rarely touch a stable system, but perhaps it's time to take a step forward. What's everyone running these days (OSX only please)? Is there a preferred version in regards to stability. Running a nMP with Resolve and Silverstack. Thanks.

I've been ok with El Capitan. Haven't played, or had a need to touch Sierra yet. I usually skip every other release or so. I went to El Capitan from Mountain Lion.

I'm also good with El Capitan for everything I run (Resolve, Pro Tools, Premiere, AE, etc.). I should go up to 10.11.16, but am currently on 10. 11.15 "because it works." I may backup and try an update tonight.

I have often favored waiting about 3-4 months before doing any OS upgrade.

You're pretty much fine with anything that's been "finished". As in, it has had it's final patch rolled out and Apple has moved on to the next build of OSX

10.10.5 (Yosemite's final version) is kind of the sweet spot for most softwares and workflows. All of Adobe's, DaVinci's and Red's new stuff will work pretty much flawlessly with this. Lots of older softwares (Like CS6, for example), work well with it as well.
10.11.6 (El Capitan's final version) is also very stable, and El Cap has a way of bringing the best out of hardware, so you might see some slightly better performance with El Cap over Yosemite. Pretty much all software that is updated to it's most current build is designed with 10.11.6 in mind. Lots of legacy software will not work with 10.11.6 however.

Stay the hell away from Sierra for now.

I've been on Yosemite for a while, as it's been very stable for me, but my desire to update Capture One is requiring that I update the OS, so I'm in the process of installing Sierra tonight. I spend most of my time in Adobe CC, Resolve, Capture One, and RedCine on occasion. I'll let you know if I learn anything worth sharing.

10.11.6 is the best IMO, it also allows 10bit color output on some macs unlike Yosemite.

Using the latest with flame 2018, premiere and resolve. Works as should.

I only had a few small hickups, things like my keyremaper does not work any more so need to wait for an update on that one.

Flame needs a quicker machine badly so I think this is the last OSX i ever use if they dont come out with a more snappy macpro any time soon.
