Most Badass Game Trailer...ever?

Very cool trailer!

Man, I wish I could invent an idea that would spawn an entire race of infinite franchising opportunities- such as Lucas' money tree known as Star Wars. There is literally NEVER going to be a point where they can't come up with new ideas, because that stupid universe is so huge and endless...

Tom...No joke, that was the coolest shit I have ever seen come from a video game trailer!! I downloaded it and the ramping was so sick. I am a HUGE fan of ramping. I can't wait to use that feature on my scarlet :D

NICE FIND!

You know, it occurs to me, why don't they let the guys who made this trailer make an entire animated series or feature? To me, this looks 100x better than the current Clone Wars franchise on Cartoon Network.

I'm not sure what time period this is supposed to be (Old Republic?), but if they take the story a thousand years in either direction, it opens up endless storyline possibilities, as Jonathan said.

I think the Clone Wars animation was a (lame) aesthetic choice to appeal more to kids. It's a shame. If these guys made a series, it'd be bomb. I always love watching a darker take on Star Wars.

I wish George Lucas was a commercial whore.

He's been accused of it but truth be told he is very protective of his baby. I wish he would just open it up to licensing and let competing products come to market.

Who doesn't want to make a star wars property? Some would suck and some would be amazing but at least the chances of getting something good would dramatically increase. Not to mention George Lucas would be rolling in the money.

That's close to how I imagined Star Wars Clone Wars should of been. Whole clone armies vs everyone and the Sith armies fighting whole armies of Jedis, then only the best remain. Darth Vader and Emperor win, Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi live to fight another day. The prequels should of looked liked this game trailer for action sequence with Stereoscopic!

I wouldn't let go of my creation if I still think I can do more with it. Lucas said its ironic that he had to become what he hated to do what he wants to do.

As opposed to...? He's #205 on Forbes' 2009 list of billionaires (about 100 places higher than a certain cigar-smoking, optical-tech afficianado we all know and love).

But I agree with what you're saying. The potential for high quality (read: muthaf*ckin awesome) SW movies/cartoons/whatever would increase immensely if they didn't always have to stem from/pass QA of the old emperor himself. Imagine if Clone Wars was made by the guys who did FFVII: Advent Children. It most likely would have been marketed with a backpack meant to collect the gray matter when you're brain exploded out the back of your head after watching it.

Holy crap!!! Was that Darth Vader?

Its not Vader. The story takes place a thousand years before the others happen.

Why can't they make a full length movie like this. I would be first in line to see two hours of bad-assery like this on screen. The problem with Lucas is that he's not a director, he's not even a writer. The guy should just be a producer and be happy with that because he sucks ass at the other two. Just look at "Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi". Way better movies than any of the other ones that came out, which he didn't write or direct. I also blame Lucas for the last "Indiana Jones" film. Frank Darabont wrote a script for it that I know for a fact would have blown Lucas's toilet paper he turned in out of the water.

Lucas came up with a great idea but that's about it and he should just accept that.

Amazing game trailer BTW.

Wow, that was the shit... VERY impressive....

On a Star Wars basis though, I'm getting bored of these mega-Jedi Prequel Universe games. It's getting to the point where I may be impressed on a technical level, but story wise I'm just like *shrug*. Why can't we also have a Original Trilogy game that's never been made? Give me a game in the Original Trilogy Universe with this engine and I'll be happy.

I agree with this 100%. This particular trailer we watched here, I have no idea who these characters are, which is great! Anything can happen when you move the timeline back a couple thousand years. Here's to hoping that Lucas will let someone develop a feature film based on this type of storyline and these awesome visuals.

Remember that the prequels are the movies he wanted to make all along. He simply didn't have the budget or technology during the original trilogy to realize it.

That said, keep your eyes out for the live action Star Wars series that has already begun pre-production. It is supposed to be a much darker take in Star Wars.

Oh, and this trailer rocks.

Bioware is one of the best developers in West (Mass Effect, Knights of the Old Republic, etc) Considering that video game developers have their pulse on the "hottest" demo its no surprise that their cinematics department would be up on the current visual trends that define pop culture.
