You mean $1200?If you upgrade your RED ONE to the M-X sensor ($5700) and then trade it in for Epic X, you get $1500 back making the sensor upgrade only cost you $4500.
I might be wrong but I seem to remember that the "extra refund" for an M-X upgraded R1 only applies when going for stages 1 or 2, i.e. when you keep the camera. When going stage 3 (trading in your beloved camera), you get a generous 17.500 credit regardless of which sensor you have.
Can anyone confirm this?
Great Jim! That's amazing.
P.S. 1 - We can still upgrade our REDs to the M-X sensor, right?
P.S. 2 - By the way, Stephen Williams just lost a bet I believe...

Wow. So by the time Monstro comes out, someone could potentially trade in a 3-year-old camera at full value. RED's generosity never ceases to amaze me. Thanks for clearing this up, Jim.
Haha, please elaborate.
Just so all is clear, you cannot upgrade hardware on R1 to have Monstro sensor installed there.
You can use R1 as a credit (trade in value) towards the purchase of EPIC with Monstro sensor.
The question remains if Jim will be so exuberant to do it as he did it with R1 to EPIC-X upgrade
and will give on EPIC-Monstro upgrade deal the same free accessories as on R1 to EPIC-X upgrade
