Nice. What was your base ISO?

What are you guys using for Camera Raw settings in DvR? On v14.3

Thx! Haven't been doing very much RED grading recently :-)

Zeb,

I'm personally learning everything I possibly can about the red workflow. So hopefully when I eventually sell the land ( thought this was going to happen last year)needed to purchase a red camera, I will be able to hit the ground running . Other than that I've never owned, used, seen or touched a red camera in person. I have graded footage and photos from other cameras for friends but non-professionally, but red footage only when it's uploaded here.

Watch out if you enable "Apply meta data curve" in Resolve you'll bring in the curve done in camera. So you could be working against a curve you don't see in the background... Here the curve seen in RedcineX wich was brought in from the RMD file (metadata either done in camera or in RCX).

Here my settings with only one node in Resolve. With RED material you have 1000 ways of doing it. Use some depending on the starting point of your file : if it's too saturated (led, fire, ...) or if it's with a to high DR, or if it's an easy shot (not over saturated, with a low DR)...

Thanks for that info! I've never used a red camera and I would have never known that! I've always just left it as default.

Ooooo . . . not on the way to anywhere I'm going ;-)

Is there any particular style of RED footage you would want to fool with? What's your 1-3-5 year goals with this film career?

Zeb,

A little out of the way..ha ha. Whatever you got man, I would love to try anything you got, I appreciate it !

up untill a few years ago, I was a civilian military contracter who worked with student pilots on a naval aviation training base, in an academic capacity. But a few years ago my grandmother had to go on kidney dialysis and I had to take her 3 days a week for almost 8 years until she passed away almost a year ago. I came here about a year and a half ago to see if I still had the artistic creative skills I believe I always had. 1-3-5 years, I don't really know Zeb, I got a few members of my family with health problems so I don't know If I will do anything in the film industry or not, I would like to maybe one day . I believe I still have my military security clearance or can get it again so I don't know if I will go back to being a military civilian contractor or something else entirely.

Here is another frame. Just pulling iso and Kelvins around. To me it´s amazing how the blue channel holds up even though the light is very warm.
And noise levels at 6400ISO is not even a thing even though things look pretty much black at 800ISO.
