  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Monochrome EPIC...

Buy one. Rent it out. This sensor rocks off the chart!

Jim

Jim, after the INSANE price drop it is almost a NON BRAINER... I want one, do you think there could be a way to see if the boys have an EPIC-X Monochrome hiding some were, so that it can be shipped out now? Money is in the account, (even so it was there for the Meizler and Dragon) but I have abetter use for the Monochrome right now, lost of pretty girls, Ancient City sceneries, and mountain ranges to shoot and print on 2 Meter canvas in B&W which I was going to do on Epic M8 in RGB desaturated and processes channel by channel on Silver Pro X 2.0, any way you can toss you hand to see if they can find me one to go out tomorrow... ;)

Hahahahahaha Ketch!

Whish I was in your liquid state!!!

Have fun with it!

Looking foreward to seeing the results.

One day...

Love this concept!

How about trade one? Anyone interested in temporary swapping EPIC-Xs, I am located in south of France. I have been itching to get a Leica Monochrome and love that you guys followed suit. Jim, I am on my way to mexico next week to shoot some models in the cenotes (underwater caves) so if you know anyone willing to trade, swap, rent or what have you then i appreciate the tip. In the meantime see if Jarred can post another grab. Cheers.

He he, actually not so liquid this days, in the verge of bringing to life so many projects I am but exhausting my personal liquidity for them, but is all worth it, and can't wait to share... ;)

And yea, you guys really need to get ready for this B&W gallery, especially if it is indeed to come out of the Monochrome sensor, I promise, that you'll be impressed by both the Skin, and by the Texture of night Streets, Mountains and water stretches, as well as the Snow sceneries, which I imagine will come out absolutely stunning on Monochrome.

Jim, Jarred, RED, Anyone - Is there any possibility we could get our hands on a very short R3D clip from the Epic Monochrome? Please?

EDIT: I just want to play around with it in FCP-X, Resolve, RCX.

Well, for me since I'll be moving to the far Northern Italian region, were even so it is incredibly and beautifully Green for most of the year, in winter is completely white, covered in deep snow and I don't see a better use for the Monochrome then shooting such sceneries with it.

And I think the students will love it too, so yeah, I think I'll be soon taking a Monochrome Home... ;)

Where I would love to go to die...

Seeing is believing. Come on Jarred...! ;)

Just a heads up Clay... At this point and time, the Mono is just getting started and RED does not have a small Army of these cameras for us to test/demo. I have friends that work there and can't get their hands on one to shoot freely on their days off, hence Jim's response...

Have fun in Mexico Clay! Cheers!

Hey, your PM box is full. Might be able to help :)

Had a little play with an Epic Monochrome yeterday and it is a a very interesting creative tool... a real film makers tool and a bold statement of intent. The image is not like a desaturated colour picture.

thank you

Michael

PS would be interested inthe genealogy of the product..??

Congratulations Ketch! Looking to do the same soon... Hope all is well my friend.
