monitor options for SCARLET W

hi guys

previously had a SW, with the old dsmc1 5 inch touch with lemo, interested in picking up another package but doesn't come with the touch, wanted to explore options

was thinking of going with fool control and getting a monitor, was looking at maybe a small 5inch shinobi or a andycine or something alike thats got a 4k signal.

wondered really about the 4k input / output.

are there issues with monitors at 5k+ not outputting the signal etc correctly?

as they all say mostly "supports up to 4K DCI video"

essentially what monitors will support full resolution 5k on the SW besides the touch ?

Without the 4K Broadcast Module in the mix, RED cameras did not produce a 4K monitoring signal until RED Komodo and V-Raptor. i.e. DSMC3 bodies.

Prior to that 2K or HD.


On the monitor side, some of those displays support 4K input via HDMI only even if they have an SDI port, read the fine print carefully.

Proper 4K via 12G-SDI is going to be a different beast cost-wise and power draw-wise.
