I have long been pondering purchasing a monitor calibration tool such as this, but there are a few on the market (in the budget I'm looking for).
Are there any particular differences between the i1d3 and, for example, the Spyder4Elite? Or is it all in the 'software'?
And as a follow up, because this was something that I have only recently come to understand.. how prevalent is the compatibility between the hardware peripheral made by datacolor, x-rite etc and 3rd party software (such as resolve)?.
Both the i1 Display Pro and Spyder4Elite are easy to get (and in my range) but I would prefer to get the one that's more universally recognised by other applications (and therefore has a longer shelf life for my calibration needs).
OR have I totally misunderstood the way these calibration tools work (which is entirely possible)
Many thanks for any thoughts, and digital beers for putting up with the uneducated :cheers2:
