  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hi there.
I've ordered a Scarlet package for a shoot I'm going on next week. Turns out that I can't get the 512gb MINIMAG in time from RED, so I'm pretty desperate now.
Anyone that could help out!?
The MiniMag should arrive on the 2nd of june, but I could have it sent to your address, so that you would only be without it for a week... It would save my ass.

I'm in Denmark now, but will be willing to pay for the shipments to me and from RED to you… Can of course show you proof of purchase and also connect you with the Bomb Squad guy I'm dealing with so that they can send it to you.
 
Is there no way for your Bomb squad guy to switch the order since they haven't shipped yet? Other option is any Red folks in Denmark to cross rent the cards/reader/side module?
 
Apparently the card isn't available for me until the 2nd of june and I need it on the 28th. The rest is ready, but the card won't arrive on time. And there isn't anyone here in Denmark that has the MINIMAG.
 
wouldn't it be easier to score the old style mags locally? can scarlet do better compression on mini mags?
 
Yeah I'd rather go for the MINIMAG since I purchased that module. And the rental places won't just let me rent the module without the camera. Just thought if someone had some MINIMAGS and didn't use one of them for a week or so we could trade and my ass would saved.
 
yea its just tough cuz I'm not sure how many people have made the switch yet.. if it doesn't work out I'm sure some owner op can you rent you the old style mags locally if all the houses refuse to..best of luck regardless!
 
Har du prøvet både hos Kameraudlejningen, Only Rental, Twentyfourseven og Red Rental?
 
Must be somebody in denmark that can rent you large mags and their ssd module and reader for less than you would end up paying for shipping things around.
Go to the rentals and give then a cross deal, you rent their side module etc and they get your camera for a couple of days. You do not really need minimags do you?
 
I ordered from RED USA and the Bomb Squad guy said all orders come through them, so it would help to order from the european office. Don't suppose you have one available from the 27th of may to the 6th of june (next wednessday)?
 
Unfortunately I think all of our cards are out at least during part of that period. What I do know is that when I last ordered mini 512's from Red Europe last week they had good stock levels ready to ship in their warehouse.
 
Yeah if a Red Owner (not a rental house) in Denmark can hook you up with the old mag/reader/side mod, that would be the better option. Sure the rental/favour would get reciprocated. We've built a small nice community like that here in Toronto.

I'm surprised Red doesn't have a few used ones that they can send out (and get back when yours is ready). They've been good for doing that in the past with other items...perhaps the mini mags are just too new and thus they don't have any to play with themselves.
