I googled and searched through this Raptor forum but didn't find anything about this issue. Are there any solutions for adapting from the mini v-mount to allow you to put a full sized v-mount on the raptor? I have a ton of full sized v-mounts and don't want to buy mini-v'sif I do move to the Raptor. Even better if it's like the Movcam hot swap attachment that I have for my Helium where you don't have to power down to switch batteries.

Thanks,

Matthew

I think there is only one option right now for Using full size V mounts..
1 you could use the Red power cable to V mount power system from RED that has the power connector for the Raptor and other Red Cameras on a 3 foot or so cable with a V mount attachment and belt loop on the end of it. I like it because it lets me hot swap batteries or use my full size V mounts when needed.

Im sure in the coming weeks we will see lots of adapters and duel V mount adaptors for this type of use.

Haven’t received my Raptor yet but I think my shark fin will fit. For those that have the Teradek Bolt TX that has been reported to fit. I’ll be using those 2 options till some more specific plate options come available. Not sure if I’m sold on the red one it just seems so bulky and still unclear wether it needs to coincide with the top plate that adds even more bulk too.

(Update. The core shark fin does not fit. But the Teradek bolt does… sort of. You need to remove the antenna and the SDI ports on the Bolt look like they will obstruct both the audio lemo and the power lemo.)

Really hoping 3rd party’s will come up with a secure slim battery plate adapter soon. The Red version seems to couple with a top plate and both adds a bit more bulk to the setup than I would prefer.

Can anyone confirm that any particular shark fin does fit?

I think I have one of these in my garage. Can you describe or shot a couple pics of what you did to get it to work.
Thank you.

I’m not good at engineering or DIY so I quite literally hacked it! Just took a hacksaw to the edge that fouls the back of the Raptor by the SDI ports. Looks a bit of a mess but I’m sure someone who knew what they were doing could have done a neater job!

Thanks for the info. Nice to see a DIY work around.

Hi! Do you know about any new solutions ? It's already few months ... still no information about something made for V-raptor. if you have any suggestions or experience already, let me know! Thank you. Our new Raptor is on the way. So i'm doing research.

Today arrived my Tilta camera cage for my V-Raptor. With the V-Mount Adapter, that also includes in the Adavaced Kit, is it possible to connect normal size V-Mounts to the V-Raptor!

Tomorrow I will test normal size V-Mount Batteries from Bebob at the studio… her at home I have only micro V-Mounts.

her now more info’s about the Tilta V-Mount adapter plate...
  • My Bebob V98mico battery’s, normally not compatible with the V-Raptor (no communication between the camera and battery). But when i use the V98mico with the Tilta V-Mount adapter, then shows the V-Raptor the correct battery level in %. I think, that the V-Mount Adapter plate has some electrical logic inside. That handle the communication with the camera! (Same with the normal V98 Bebob's)
  • Normal V-Mount battery’s now are usable with the V-Raptor!

Ordered the Octamas V-Mount for Raptor earlier this week and will see this Monday. It should be a real help in power usage -the Nano Micro’s fit the Raptors natively but being able to add a shark fin makes a huge difference.
