  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Michael Bay...

My son and I don't call explosions, car crashes and action carnage by those words anymore...
We call explosions, car crashes and any crazy action carnage a "MICHAEL BAY" ...
for eg... he came in a few days ago and said.... "Hey dad, I saw a MICHAEL BAY up at the traffic lights yesterday" ... I just know what he's talking about. :)

My wife and I like to say that Micheal Bay is, by almost all counts, an American Auteur. Critics may hate to agree with that, as Mr.Bay's work appeals to a broader audience, but his work is so distinct, and so imitated, it's hard to see him otherwise. IOHO.

The widely used term for it is "BAYHEM". "I saw some serious BAYHEM at that intersection back there!" I'm not sure if Michael came up with that term himself or someone else did but it's used to describe his work in articles these days.

Michael Bay's version of a 'Ma Deuce'

Wow that is an incredible shot.
The visuals in the transformers movies are so far ahead of most if not all movies. I have used his explosions as reference for the last computer games I worked on. No other movie has as elaborate explosions :)

Yeah, great shot, thats one hell of a dream-job. Looks like he has a lot of fun.

He get's so much hate from people I can't stand it. He's a truly brilliant director, and a nice guy to boot. Had the pleasure of meeting him several times. Totally chill dude.

This is a GREAT still... 3D Dragons don't hurt either...

They're going to have to work very hard to out-do the effects and visuals of Pacific Rim. I also cared about the characters a lot more in del Toro's film, and his plot was very intricate and well thought-out -- not the simplistic, silly plots of past Transformers films. I concede that the Transformers films made a lot more money, though I think Pacific Rim will break even. But the latter film set the bar very, very high against films like Transformers and the upcoming Godzilla remake.

Break even? Haven't you heard? Pacific Rim ended up doing great internationally, and there are rumors of a sequel...
