Great news!
Yestreday I was scared to receive the cameras just with the 300mm...

great! :)

i have so many angenieux zooms here, but i am still tempted to order one as the "standard" lens and rent out the angenieux at a premium... hmmm

forgot one question - if we order that with the shipping cams (we have a 900er which i still need to finalize the accessories for), will it already ship or is there a queue as for the EVF?

We'll be fulfilling backorders on the metric 18-50 in order of reservation number.

Awesome!

I'm tired of shooting with my 300 mm RED and 8 mm Peleng. It's time for something in between.

Just curious.. why do people need metric? do french focus pullers use it?
never seen an AC work in metric before?

Im the first person to say the world needs to go metric but this is one little tiny exclusion zone?

In the 27 EU nations most things are metric.

aware of that... metric here too,
however focus pulling IS very traditionally imperial, 99.9% of focus pullers worldwide would work that way,
if your not going to use a 1st AC then cool, your call entirely. Pull that lens out for proper film shoot in UK, US, NZ, Australia etc etc
and there will be some head scratching.

I've always found it funny that you want a focus scale in feet and inches on a 50mm lens for a 35mm camera :-)

Sorry to be part of just some illiterate DOPs somewhere on a little island who didn't know something about the big world. I just speek for languages but are not comfortable to live with inches and stuff, I'm very shamed about that, really.

Hehe, Graeme,

sounds like you need to stay in Canada from now on...

But at least someone has understood the favorite concept behind metric :)

LOL,
Axel

Hi Jashunter,

As hard as it is to believe, most of the camera monkeys in the eu (Not counting GB) pull focus in metric. I asked a second how they broke down distances smaller than a meter, .5 meters, 38cm what? He said, "we just call it a little bit"

Nick

yes stared at that irony for years, you grow up learning metric all through school, then stare at lenses for decades dealing with 4'6" and 24mm on the same piece of equipment.
And what with infinity being metric too. :sarcasm:
