  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

MEIZLER MODULE - Sneak Peak

Hmm, a set of 3 Preston lens motors will cost about 15 000 USD. It's more than a 4k digital cinema camera from Red. The marked needs a little disruption... maybe the RT motion motors will work with the Meizler module, or maybe Red will bring a solution?

Quote of the week from the RC Podcast "... this is big boy toys..." With receiver, transmitter & the motors, let's say 3 for focus-iris-zoom - if they are made by RED a little cheaper but if it's a get your own motor thing... We are looking at plus 25K like Jas said.
 
I wait for those Red Pro Electro Anamorphic Primes that I hope are released next week together with the dragon and the meizler thing... then who care for motors :)
 
Hey Jarred, or anyone else that may be able to answer, do you know the booth number where the meizler module will be shown at? Not sure if this question was already asked but thought i'd ask before digging through past posts.

Just cancelled the reservation to the Red party to let some one else in line attend.... SIGH ISGH, this will be the hardest thing I have done this year... :(

But there was no way for me to make it, so hope to get good glimpse form here... ;)

Believe me, I have been looking for this all year, but after my return form Brazil, I got CRUSHED with paper work and corporate planning stuff, plus the Pre-production of the Movie in Rome full force ahed... I just can't make it, and to make things worst, I was let down on the footage I wanted to bring for the 4K competition, one thing after an other... So at the end I had to given in , next year for sure... You guys have a blast!!

I sure hope not Paul. Given how much expensive tech + R&D is in it, I won't be at all surprised to see the price coming in over $15k. It replaced gear that is easily valued at $40-80k when pointing to the state of the art - battle tested on large budget projects.

Besides, I see a LOT more folks needing a Pro I/O module as Red speced in the past, as opposed to this "Ferrari".

I don't think so. I love this module but I'll rent a this when I need it. The Pro IO I'm going to buy. Then, my epic will replace most of the gigs I use my 5D on. On those gigs I won't even bother doing a RAW version on set (unless there's a real need).
