  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Meet Snappy @ ISO 800

Just to be clear- it is called Hyperbole. :)

Was just foolin along with you; the 28k doesn't do any of the stuff you mentioned.
But the number makes it sound like they're already way past that idea.

Though I wouldn't be surprised if they did surpass the stats you mentioned in 10 years given their speed...

No worries at all - it is all in good fun. I only commented back since two people made separate comments about my post.

If this is what you can do in TWO years, I can't imagine where you will be pushing the limits of technology and the industry in 10 years...

A 10k Camera that does native 3D, shoots in Redcode 1500, & has 26 stops of latitude ...

Only 26 stops? - that's so 2015. :-)

Will upgrading disqualify an R1 from getting us into Stage 2, for example?

I dont speak for RED, but this pretty much IS Stage 2. Where you keep the RED ONE (and could upgrade sensor later).

You are still keeping your R1 and just upgrading the sensor BEFORE EPIC ships rather than after it appears...

Unless Im missing something here.

10 years from now... try to remember who lead the charge when everyone else is doing this stuff. Trust me... they wouldn't if they hadn't been forced to.

Jim

Breakthroughs do require courage. My hat goes off to all the courageous innovators that make Hi-Def Media Possible. Thank You RED Dev. Team

Hi,

As much of a reality as flat panels with a contrast ratio of 1,000,000 : 1

Stephen

That's only 20 stops :biggrin5:

26 stops requires 64 times higher contrast ratio. There are no lenses that could transmit that sort of contrast.

I am totally blown a way by the image and even more impressed that it was shot at T8....incredible. My RED is already there if you need a test camera!! Feel free to "gut" it!!

I demand a Planet Earth reshoot! Get back to work chaps!

Looks great, really enjoyed examining the footage a bit in Nuke. Great stuff.
