  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I gotta believe he was on the LONG side of that 70 to 200....I know I would be.
 
The best electronically driven lenses (AF) for Epic still images (also motion) would be probably the newest Leica-S2 lenses.

There are four at the moment but Leica is working hard to extend its range.

Leica Summarit-S 70mm f/2.5 ASPH CS

Leica Summarit-S 35mm f/2.5 ASPH CS

Leica APO-Macro-Summarit-S 120mm f/2.5 CS

Leica APO-Elmar-S 180mm f/3.5 CS

Also Leica S set perfectly fits to 5K sized EPIC sensor.

They are much better optically (also mechanically and handmade) than any of Canon/Nikon competition.

But it's up to RED if they want to implement them in EPIC camera system.

Hope RED will not make again the mistake as they did before when I was telling them to join the brand

new Leica-C Cine lens set development and of course investment just because thy went to RPP development.

I was thinking that RED should offer one low (RPPs) and another high PL lens set...

A little bit of that.. but also to get enough depth for eyes and nose to be in focus.

Yes, thanks for bringing that up. I did a pretty aggressive grade on this frame, much further than one normally would and the finished piece probably will end up a little more "normal". the grade is pretty hardcode, but I like it.
 
These animals are fantastic. But I think you would get even more excitement pointing the cameras at each other filming each other ;)
 
Truly stunning! The 4K footage must look amazing. There are only about 3200 tigers left in the wild with about 10,000 to 15,000 privately held in the U.S. alone. Unfortunately it's easier to find a tiger here than in their home range.
