  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

MEET FELIX....

Yes, very happy. Finally it is great to see this. Thanks a lot Jim and Jarred. I'm more excited than ever (but not horny, er... :) )

Quite frankly, if I were a Scarlet customer I would be pretty happy right now.

Jim

I was so happy I registered as a user, rather than looking over the shoulder of my partner (who has been relegated to searching the forums on his iphone).

So happy.

Do you not think its about time we had some sort of pricing structure for all of this equipment?

Im still in the dark about how much a scarlet costs? Id love to see a price break down.

And if not that how about a ball park figure?

This is early Scarlet sensor calibration and Scarlet footage forced through the EPIC color science. It showcases how close they are, but not exact. It also shows the danger we face posting stuff like this before it is completely done. We are close... but still have some tweaks to do. As long as everyone understands it and doesn't try to pick it apart, we'll continue to post images through development. If we get too many pixel peepers, we'll just hold back until everything is done.

The images are apprechiated, and my guess is that you know it...

My guess is that you also are aware - after RED one - that it is almost unevitable that someone will not try to judge the Scalet on base of what some user managed to get out of these images or not in 3 years time...

But you know what? It doesn't really matter... Those people wouldn't really have used the cam anyway.

I, for one, feel extremly fortunate for these sneekpeeks into the future, and that this time around I don't have to bribe, schmooze and steal to get access...

Thanks.

Congrats

And cheers

G

No complaints only happiness because We got to not only see scarlet motion but got an R3d too.

Thanks Jarred and Jim

I am so happy right now I could cry (sarcasm)

Understatement of the week! I've been talking to anyone who will listen about how exciting this footage is!

Welcome to Reduser - I 100% agree. Shallow focus, much like Streak filters, needs to be used judiciously, not just mindlessly slapped on.

Thanks for the welcome. Can't see it really changing in a hurry though. Its like Tim always says, Indie's spent so long tricking the cameras to get a shallow DOF on a MiniDV cameras, now they've got it native they just can't get enough.

Joined here May 2009, watched every whist and turn, on this site two or three times a day if not on location, I know its worth the wait, the images out of the Scarlet are fantastic and will only get better and better. EX1R images are good but the scarlet is pure class guys, nothing close to it it unless you can buy an Epic :-)

Many thanks for posting.

Thanks so much Jarred for the .R3D. The image from the scarlet is nothing short of spectacular. But then again, what else should one expect from RED?

I will be a happy scarlet customer when I can actually be one. Looks really amazing, but it's like a wannabe bride standing outside Tiffany's looking at rings.

Please ship.

That kind of goes without saying...or rather stating the obvious.

It's not like they're sitting on their hands. They'll ship when they are ready to.

I haven't really participated in conversations on this forum before. However, I have been following conversation just about everyday long before I created my account. You guys are doing the seemingly impossible, in a form factor that is unreal, all for a price everyone should be thankful for. I appreciate everything you folks do to support your customers, and for giving them the inside peek and background knowledge of the camera equipment you create. I've been waiting for Scarlet / Epic-light for a while and I really look forward to it once it's complete. Seeing the R3D'S makes me want to purchase even more, and I'll wait patiently for the opportunity to do so.

No criticisms here, keep up the amazing work! :)

Don't hold back! I'm very happy!

Honestly, the last time I remember being this excited about something is when I was a little kid waiting for Christmas. I fully intend to shoot one of the first features on Scarlet. I am anxiously waiting for you guys to birth this baby
