Media Write Error

Shot something yesterday and when there was about 5 minutes left on my Angelbird 512gb CFAST card, I get this error:

Record error: Media write speed error. Please save files and secure Format media.

It stops recording, and when I try to record again it stops within 5 seconds and gives me the same error. This is extremely frustrating and pretty unreliable for interviews or anything really.

Files are fine, but it stills worries me. Whats the cause of this and what can assure me that this wont happen again?

I don't know what the issue is, Austin, but you should include your firmware version in your post.

Other questions: did you try rebooting before rolling again on the same card? Have you tried any different cards? What were your basic settings (e.g. codec and quality level, format, fps)?

I've had problems with my Angelbird 512GB Cfast card too. I have to send it back to them but I've been shooting for the past 5 months and couldn't. Mine stops working at 80% of capacity.
Had problems with one of their 128gb SD cards too in the past. Maybe I'm just unlucky or dumb to still use Angelbird after 2 problems with them and none with SanDisk.

I had the same issue with a 512gb Angelbird. After sending them a detailed support email with every step I took to troubleshoot the issue, they decided to replace the card. The process took about a week to resolve, and I haven't had any issues with the replacement yet.

Still, I'm always on edge with the replacement.

Is there a more reliable brand people are using? A decent amount of the work I do comes from events, where there's no room for reshooting something in the event of a card error.
