I'm having some hard times trying to find a mattebox that could fit my Red Pro Zoom17-50mm and my Red Pro 300mm.
I'd like to have two 4x5,65 trays and a swing away in 19mm, any advices?

Most studio swing away matteboxes have a back interface diameter larger than 142mm, so they should fit. What's the trouble in particular?

The main issue is due to the rings.
Right now, I have a Redrock mattebox and I'm working with donuts and when shooting outside, it's not the best option.
The Arri MB-20 II fits easily but it's expensive, I'm looking for something between the Redrock and the Arri... anyway, if I don't find any alternatives, I'll buy the Arri.
I can get rid of the swing away but I'd like to have the ability to mount my mattebox on 19mm rods.

Try contacting Photo Cine Rent (www.photocinerent.fr). They're very knowledgeable and offer a good range of different options. It would appear that what you ideally want will probably cost you 2800€ minimum, however -- there isn't really that much price difference between manufacturers of these sorts of matteboxes.

Thanks for your post Jim, I'm already in touch with Photocinerent but believe it or not, it's been two weeks that I'm waiting for a quote from them...
For a French customer, it's most of the time faster to order items in the US than from one of our local retailer because of some lack of professionalism or some stock issues...
I'm cool to put 3K in a mattebox if it is well built... last quote I've had from the local Arri retailer for a MB-20 was around 4,5K...
Do you have any Oconnor product that could fit my needs?

you could also add some arri 'backend' to your RedRock mattebox,
Arri mattebox accesoires

K2.65028.0 : Back Bellows Adapter - fits directly on the RED 17-50
K2.47190.0 : 138mm ring 114mm for the RED 18-50 and 50-150
K2.65045.0 : reduction ring 114-110mm for the RED Pro Primes
we also added this :
K2.65046.0 : reduction ring 114-100mm
K2.65043.0 : reduction ring 100-80mm
for the RED 300mm you would probably need another adapter.

Thanks for this info Filip, I'll take a look at that.

Hi Vincent,

we're well-built (among the best-built, IMHO) but our product stays firmly defined as a compact mattebox, with a main selling point being very moderate pricing but will still last for years. There was a crying need for a mattebox product like that and so that's what we went for.

If you have 3000€ to spend, there are several interesting options and they are all worth looking at... each has advantages and disadvantages. Some resellers represent three or more of these, as far as I know -- perhaps one would like to chime in and advise?

Cheers

Jim

Hi Jim, thanks for your time and all these infos! Hopefully some resellers will step up and advise but I'm definitely looking more and more at the Oconnor's compact matteboxes.

The MB-20 from Arri is the one you want, although you shouldn't put a mattebox in front of the 300mm, it will make the bokeh go strange :D Use the back filter holder.

Cali,
When shooting action around T8, I don't see any issue with the bokeh but I agree with you on some shoot.
Using the back filter holder is not that easy when you need to change a filter quickly on the beach.

If you don't really really need swing away the MMB-1 from Arri also fits really well.
Thanks for this info, I can get rid of the swing away if I win a bit of space... and save a bit of money...

Use the back filter holder.
Cali,
BTW, where do you find 43mm rear filter? When I've bought that lens I start looking for that without any success...
