  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Major Announcement- July 6th

Im hoping for a small 4k+,
full frame to s35 sensor,
Sized between 5d and 1d DSLRs,
that accepts most DSMC2 accessories,
like mini mags & cable-less monitors & lens mounts,

Being able to use current accessories on a new body would save RED and consumers a lot of money.

Then if I really want to dream.... multiple sensors in the camera... on a rotation device, like the built in ND filters on the FS7
That way you could choose from 4k motion, or 50mp mirror-less stills

I wonder how many other people's heart rates shot through the roof - on hearing that JJ teased open the portal between our world and his own!

I thinks it's clear this isn't an image capture device.

I think we are looking at more of a parallel to the Sunglasses to Cinema Camera jump.

Exciting because I'm really looking forward to hearing what you guys came up with this time.
And scary because, well, how many is this gonna cost me ? :D

I'm guessing it's the long-awaited laser projector.
 
Looking at the timing I would say.

RED EPYC Workstation with SSG-GPU's and optimize NLE and coloring software for the RED workflow.
 
It's not cinema related.

The RED One did not save the world. But it changed the imaging world forever. This new project will affect everyone in a major way. That is about all we can do...

I appreciate everyone's support and belief that we are no longer a scam. And at some point we will be calling for deposits on something you know nothing about. :-)

I think we have to assume this is something that goes well beyond the camera tech that Jim and RED have been working on for the past 15 years. I assume this will have a much bigger impact, something that isn't currently available (at least in the advanced form they will present), and will make people's jaw hit the ground. Jim has clearly been working on other things for a while now and I think there are some things that he is very passionate about, especially when it comes to technology that can help people. So, my guess is that this is a technology that allows people to do something that they haven't been able to do before or at least not something available to the masses. But I guess we'll find out on July 6th. Looking forward to it!
