Would love an option where, when pushing the magnify button, it would also get rid of the menu display. Right now one has to push the magnify button and the "get rid of menu" button to get a true 1:1 view.

Pushing the button again should return to the previous mode.

I second that. In addition to cleaning up the screen for focus, that option would also make it clearer that you are in the magnified mode. (So that if the AC has activated the magnify button to set focus while I wasn't looking, I don't foolishly assume that I've got the wrong lens on.)

Would love n option where the magnify only apply to the Red LCD and not to all the other monitors on the set ....would like an option .... so many basic function that could easily be there are not ... that a would like an option thread will be interesting if someone at Red will listen.

Magnify just the LCD

Magnify just the LCD

Always open to ideas, but that is not an option gdv, all RED ONE monitor outputs share the same RGB pipeline, so you magnify one, you magnify them all....

Stuart, is there or will there be a way that the 1:1 can be moved away from the center? Something with the joystick that lets you move the magnifier around?

Well ... that's the idea .. to separate the RGB pipeline. So false color and other user's buttons will be only for the ... user and not also for the passive watcher.
After all it was the Red's interface design to come up with 5 user buttons!!!
Also, having thumbnails of clips at playback ... not something that other digital cameras don't have.
... and many other basic functions. I am sure Red users have tons of them. I myself just wrote a few

Yes, another useful function. There are tons of them.
But I guess the One isn't going to be finished as we all going to jump into the next generation of Epic.

In pre 16 builds, the magnification would also work on playback - THIS WAS SO GREAT TO CHECK FOCUS, PLEASE BRING IT BACK!:)

Right. Now false color works on playback but not the magnify.
Go figure out the logic behind all this.
I will tolerate all that just please God don't make the chargers fell again as I have sent them to Red so many times already, I can't deal with it anymore....

I'd love the option of having a temporary magnify during recording.
I remember magnify during being removed being removed because people were confusing themselves, not remembering that they were not actually shooting wider.
If that was the reason, why not have magnify time itself off after, say 5 seconds, to remove that issue. if you wanted to still see magnification, keep your finger over the button and press again.
Without an optical viewfinder, magnify during recording simply makes some shots with difficult focus issues easier to get.

Actually the other day while recording, I accidentally pushed the magnify button. It immediately gave me a rocket_io error and aborted the recording. Build 20.0.0
