Just saw it massive & worth it. Iconic locations & images.

Us aussies know how to shoot monster cars/trucks ; ) Not much on story, very much into the "fast & Furious 7" style of story telling.

Anyway the reason for the post appears a lot of actions scene have been "undercranked ?" .................. thoughts good, bad, indifferent.

Just saw it. Soooo good! One of the most imaginative and ambitious films I've ever seen.

Non-stop action...seriously...I caught a late showing here in Atlanta thinking for sure I'd nod off after a long day's work...no...I was wrong...only around 60 seconds of "down time" the whole movie.

Awesome wide shots with great backdrops and very imaginative characters. Not much else to it other than to make sure you hit the head before because you're not gonna want to step out and miss anything!

Insane film. Shot on Red or Alexa?
I see they used 5Dmk2 cameras for the POV shots (you could hardly tell the difference in the cinema, but it was there if you were expecting it). Some cool shots of the 5D guys on set here (some of them are wearing video glasses by the looks of it)?

He, he Rome. Waiting to see it, but the series is known for its wide shots, they were said to be attractive to Japanese audiences in the 1980's I think, and the characters (the mad ones), look like the typical old style Australian fair used in the previouse two films. They are just like some of the real people you see in the capital cities but put in a costume (we hope) and told to act mad. Actually if you look at American 1980's movies you can see American versions. I think the RoboCop and police academy movies used them. The other ones I'll have to see, but after 12 years I'm hoping this film will be a triumph. Visually it looks stunning and the its a good day to die shows what he was aiming for. It is just a pity that this wasn't a Mel Gibson swan song where Maxeets his end.

Re-edit: I forgot, if you look at Sam Newman's Street Talk on the Footy Show (AFL version) you can see him interviewing some of these city folk that mad Max characters were like. Having lived in Victoria I can say it is incredible the amount of lower intelligence you find around. It is even like intellectuals live in a murky haze.

Fast and Furious 7 and Age of Ultron. Fast and Furiouse was not in 3D here, hard to believe. Ago of Ultron was in 3D for two or three weeks, but speaking to somebody in the biz, it had only 5% sakes in 3D by the second or third week. I did not get to see it, on the night they had it on only up.in the city in vmax 3D on one or two day sessions with the last one st an of time, so zi missed it. I can appreciate why 3D sales tanked the first section of the movie was a bit slow and even chummy. But the reality is visual.spectaculars and action films are the only ones to go and pay extra to watch in vmax 3D. They had virtually every vnax session this week booked out with Pitch Perfect 2, believe it or not. At least the women enjoyed it, it was good but a lot of the jokes were ones females liked, the Australian actress being one of them.

Anyway, I'm considering buying a 3D TV in the future, and watching rented versions of these movies instead of going to the cinema, its just not worth it. They killed it by insisting on charging extra for it. Until glasses free 3D comes it is too much to expect people to.pau extra for normal movies in 3D. A same cost experience would have helped. Maybe when avatar 2 comes out well see better 3D.

Watched Avengers in 3d and 2d.. 3d was crap !!! 2d was superb.
Just wasted my money watching MAD MAX in 3D... Crap again !
Watching it in 2D tomorrow,
It wad the very last time I'll go and watch a 3D movie. So disappointing watching soft, double images through sun glasses to catch few things in 3d push through the screen.

On the other side of the conversation, MAD MAX was like WOOOOW!!!!!. What a film !!!, Outstanding !
Cannot wait to watch it again properly in 2D !

I haven't seen it, but I was watching some cool BTS of it the other day:

I find myself obessed with watching BTS clips, especially RED music videos and pausing on camera setups and monitor recording specs, lol.

What an awesome ride of a movie!!

That said, my showing looked MASSIVELY oversharpened. Like someone "unsharp masked" the whole thing too much. I saw a 2K Digital projection, anyone else notice or was it just my theater?

Mark, I've had similar problems and met a guy with the same. He was saying it was right eye dominance (in his case). In my case I trained my mind to bring the dominance into balance. I also cane accross two other things. One that If I wore my 3D glasses over or under my normal spectacles it was much better (the weak blurry eye gets better corrected ). The other was that the astigmatism correction rotation in the lens can put it out if it is incorrect. So if my glasses are not sitting straight square with each side at the correct angle (adjusment of the lens) and probably titlted forwards right, then things can be out. 3D is great, but the 3D process of projection and viewing is an issue.

Interesting thing is, why do eye dominant people see double in 3D but not in real life?

Saw it last night, loved it!

Didn't look sharpened in my showing, looked fantastic.

Definitely noticed the undercrank. I think it worked okay. Didn't have the Baz Lurhman sped up look. Was pretty smooth.

Fantastic film!

Saw it last night. The 3D projection really spoiled the viewing for me and ultimately my enjoyment of the entire film. Going back today to see it in 2D. I'm so done with 3D movies now.

DO NOT SEE IT IN 3D!!!

This sharpened blurry thing could it have something to do with the way the projector /res file is set up?
