  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I am extremely glad that Jim offered cameras to Soderberg and Jackson, but now that reserve cameras are on the market, for goodness sakes let those camera operators be the ones to rent their Red's out. There should be no more free Red's for anyone. If even Spielberg jumps up and down and wants to shoot on Red, there are over 40 on the market that can accomodate him, with more on the way soon.

About the Miguel's reservation, I think Stephen has already enlighten what it had to be enlighten.

On my points:

1st) The relevance of people like Miguel, Evin, even you and many others from the former dvxuser.com -- as well, the Jarred's part on all this adventure called RED. This project is a team. I'm feeling part on it since the minute I left USD $4,000 on it.

2nd) Ditto

3rd) Ditto

4th) and on and on...

Now more directly my good fellow, I'm not a child. I'm 38 years old in two weeks. A career behind as producer. With work awarded in Venice, for example. National TV, etc. I'm still having the sense about what I'm talking about or referring to. And I'm used to assume all my statements. Especially those which have a lot of meaning beyond.

I could set up a RED main event celebrity boxing match between the 2 of you. Any one want to help crew it and bring their cameras to shoot the event? I am thinking some time in January. Maybe we could have the opening match be a "#6" and "burnt grandpa" tilt.

I´ve been holding my reservation for over a year, and still a few more months seems like an eternity... posts like this shorten it a bit though.

Hi Brandon.

If you know anything about about Sanjin then you would be well aware that this man has forgotten more about film aesthetics than what the two of us know today. Your statement above is very telling...

This is the first I've herd of "compromises" could you explain to us what "compromises" have to be made to make something commercial?

Or maybe you'd like to explain what it is about this shot that makes it "commercial".

aesthetics is a science.. from philosophy.. it's not possible to resume into a post.. if you want (okay forget it.. i'll post it anyway.. :) :)) i can add a few words in behalf of sanjin.. in just one word what he meant.. formula..

a conventionalized form expressing some already conventionalized..

a representation of a substance using symbols for its constituent elements..

a convention.. something regarded as an example already conventionalized..

more than that?.. only in the university.. 4 years.. in some countries of europe we are used to have 5 years.. more 2 or 3 years.. and more extra years to come.. then, you'll be able to start to understand what a formula does mean.. but then it can be too much late because you are already part of the formula.. :) you can be the institution itself..

What kind of goof gets on and talks this kind of crap about someone who's good enough to provide these clips for us? What are some of you guys smokin' today? I am terribly sorry but that's MY opinion and YOUR art is no better than someone else's art.

I'm not sure why you are stating your credentials as if I was somehow attacking you, as that was neither my words nor my thoughts. I simply was countering that no one should receive Red's out of turn. If Jim wants to give Macgregor his Red when his number comes up, that's his perogative.
