  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

M-X at ISO 2000...

Guys, please stop grading a JPEG picture! This doesn't make sense at all!

Seconded. It's still an 8bit image lacking much of the original info. Don't see the point.

Although it's a JPEG there's quite some room for playing with the pic. Compression is low and the blacks aren't crushed.

So please play with it by yourself and don't post the results. There are always people here trying to find flaws...

Very impressive results, I am looking forward to getting this new sensor in my camera. :)

The noise looks incredibly pleasant. Was the new FLUT science applied to these shots?

We now use FLUT Science on everything... we are working on including it for older RED ONE footage with a new build and REDCINE-X support.

If ISO 2000 jpegs could withstand those specifically targeted looks .r3d and dpx would do even better. That was the point.

I wouldn't sweat over folks who pick flaws in data re-stretched web jpegs. Shots show fantastic noise characteristics for this ISO and great highlight handling and that's what matters.

Sorry Jim. I thought those looks actually proved the great MX potential.

Thh, I don't see what's so fantastic about this...

Just kiddin' this amaze me, and makes me hope my future fixed Scarlet will make my footage look just as pretty and clean - and of course starring moviestars like Leo ;)

This doesn't mean anything until we know the shutter speed.

This is the Recon thread. Please take all Canon discussions, comparisons and images over to "Other Cameras".
