The Movie LOOPER
Seriously way cool !
This is the first time I can honestly say, that Chris Nolan now has a modern day running mate.

The trailer is very average compared to the actual film. Im glad my kid made me go to it, becuase I would have ignored it otherwise.
Trailers are so so important to get right.

Do your self a favour. See the movie... Very well thought, great screen play. awesomely shot. (and I don't care that it wasn't shot on RED)

For those who have been around here long enough you'll remember Rian Johnson getting into it with a few Redusers. I think the important takeaway is that once we get past the pixel peeping it really is about filmmaking and telling good stories, and hopefully Looper is a prime example of that.

Not too long ago, The Verge did a very interesting article on Rian Johnson and he breaks down his point of view on Digital vs Film. Very interesting stuff. I had the honor to assist on some stuff for this movie in it's early stages. Though I've only had the opportunity to chat with Rian a few times, he is someone that you can tell he really loves what he does and always tries to think outside the box.

I'm looking forward to seeing this movie, but even before I....Rian Johnson's growth is a great reminder of "the process". I remember seeing Brick 5 or 6 years ago and being let down. But now...a couple of movies later...this director seems to have found his voice. I always remind myself that what we do, filmmaking....is a journey. You don't start out great, you learn, you mature, you get better...as long as you stick with it.

Very excited to see this.

I was able to see it for free at theaters last night, wished that I paid for it after watching it.

never mind

What anamorphics where used? never mind + 1 :)

Like the soft contrast of the film together with the scope glass. But think the Panavision lens flares are a bit over the top at some places in the trailer. Love lensflares and glare and all that stuff but when the lens makes a huge blue bar across the screen it's over due, but thats just my taste.

well, i finally watched this one...

i liked the thoughtfulness, motifs, questions it tried to grapple, and the fact it wasn't a twilight movie
but it's not a landmark film in any regard, it brought no brilliance to the sci-fi/fantasy genre or the ongoing time-travel/possible futures/distopia dialogue

to me, it was a confused, oedipal drama propped on the plot points of tele-kenesis and totally unexplained time-travel and hidden in an over-emotional action thriller

i know a lot of people really liked it. i didn't.

A for effort. i'll be really excited to see this director's future (not futuristic) work.
