LOOM - ONLINE

Holy crap. I've watched the movie and am really wondering why everyone here is talking about the technical stuff and not the movie itself. I thought it was an absolute triumph of filmmaking, easily one of the greatest shorts I've ever seen. Extremely deep and I loved how nothing was heavy handed, information was left out, no ethical/moral message was pushed down our throat. I saw on the youtube version of it a bunch of adolescent trolls flaming it about how it's boring and dull and I think that can't be farther from the truth. It's an extremely subtle movie and is in many ways similar to blade runner in both tone/feel but also story. Both stories center around the pygmalion archetype.
I honestly haven't been as inspired and effected by a movie in a year or two. Every film I've seen in theatres over the course of the past year I've forgotten as soon as I walk out the theatre. This thing I've seen yesterday, then watched it 2 more times. And now watched it a 4th time today and still can't stop thinking about it.
Am I crazy or does anyone feel even remotely similar?

How do I uninstall the Red Rocket Drivers on Mac OS? FYI my mac will sleep when I boot off a HD with no RR Drivers and the RR installed, I want to manage when I need the Rocket and when I need to sleep the Mac via drivers being installed (much easier than swapping the RR in and out). IF the RR installer had an Uninstall option that would be a huge help but Im happy to manually remove them to mange it if I knew where to find the drivers.

Thanks

You can unload it (will re-load on next boot) by typing this in terminal:

sudo kextunload /System/Library/Extensions/redrocket.kext

Or you can remove the driver from that folder if you want to "uninstall" it.

No warranty implied for this ;)

REDray is an Ethernet / WiFi network based, internal HDD and / or external HDD storage, dual codec device.

It decodes 4K .RED distribution format files and also decodes 720p or 1080p MP4 (H.264 / AAC) format files.

In stereo of course.

Very nice! Can't wait to see it with my own eyes.

Will the projector be 10 bit or 12 bit? You mention 10 bit, but with a gamut as large as a laser projector will likely have, won't you really need 12 bit? Also, DCI standard is 12 bit...

Just wondering if you guys (RED) will offer the options to buy the screen with the projector? thanks

Incredible quality!!
Anyone knows the workflow?? Colorgrading whith?

thanks.

Essentially the same workflow as "Tattoo", except 3D. Conformed and color graded with Pablo.

We were told by RED that the film would play at 10ftL behind glasses at NAB. First we did the supervised color with Darius and Luke at 10ftL in 4K 2D. Then pushed the color to the 4K 3D master and trimmed and depth balanced at 10ftL.

After Jim, Jarred, Luke, Darius, and Ridley approved the 4K 3D color, we handed over the files to RED for REDRAY encoding.

Then we trimmed everything for standard DCI deliverable at 14 fTL 2D, and 4-4.5 ftL 3D. All in 4K of course.

I hope I don't have to decide between affording a Dragon upgrade or a REDray. Package deal?

Yes, that's what I'm curious about. Since it requires a proper screen (was it special silver one or something?) I want to know how much am I going to spend with addition to $10K+ for a high-end home version. Not that I'm complaining or anything, all the package probably will be less expensive than anything else on the market, it's just interesting for me. I hope we'll get the answer before this year ends. I have couple of friends very intrigued by REDs laser projector too, with all this new stuff it might be actually possible to revive an old small indie movie theater, that we all loved since our childhood, now closed. Two, actually, second one is even smaller, but very cozy and comfy inside. I will never forget the sound of ancient 35mm film projector at my first visit there and seeing my first movie ever. If with a special screens you can show 4K 3D movies with passive glasses inside there, then... oh wow. That'd be an indie rebirth for sure. Sorry, now I'm being nostalgic too much, I'll shut up.
