  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Looking to plan my trip to NAB early this year

Got my ticket! Thanks Bob!

See you all there!

Last year was my first NAB - loved it. Here are some things I learned that can hopefully help others:

- Book hotel soon - the prices go up and the availability goes down of course. This led to me being stuck at Luxor (not a too bad a place), but FAR from the convention center, and far from the best parts of the strip. You'll get a better hotel at a cheaper rate if you book early.

- Book hotel through NAB website - "guaranteed lowest rates" I couldn't find cheaper online, so yeah it seems so. Some of the rates are 1/2 - 1/3 of what they're going for on expedia at the time of this writing. Certain hotels are designated as a "badge pick up site" so you might not have to wait in lines on the first day of the show. Some hotels have waived the "resort fee" as well.

- hotel location strategy - close to the convention center, yet still close to the fun/active parts of the strip. Google map it. I'm looking to walk to the show everyday and then basically walk out of the hotel to parties etc. at night.

- going to try booking a $15 return shuttle to and from the airport/hotel. It's cheaper and I won't have to deal with a cab driver giving me the run-around. If you cab it, pay attention the avg. rates they have posted at the airport - that knowledge will keep you from getting scammed.

- Last year I got work to pay for my registration which included 3 conference "sessions" $150. This year I got a free pass from a vendor - no free "sessions", but I found the free badge gets you into certain all-access sessions anyway. In the end, I actually regretted going to the sessions because that took time from seeing the exhibits!

- planning booth visits - last year I wandered and got too easily distracted. There's wayyyyy too much stuff. This year I've listed the vendors and products I'm shopping for specifically and will target them first.

- some vendors pack up and jet early. Last year I missed the Cineo booth because I left it to the last day.

- the las vegas monorail pass was a good idea especially since I was at out at Luxor.

- Your badge will get you into some big NAB sponsored parties for free and this sometimes includes drinks, and faster-moving lines.

Try LV6974. It is the Zacuto free code
NAB has negotiated hotel discount. Follow the prompts after you register.
I got a room for two nights at Circus Circus for $86/night only a mile from the convention center.
See you there.
I wonder if there is a meet and greet for Reduser forum members
