I am looking for the most powerful Open Face Type LED

main use will be mounted in a parabolic (Briese type) softbox
so it has to be reasonably small and light.

The best options I found are the Hive 200c or the new Broncolor F160
but ideally it should be a bit more powerful.

The razyr7 LED chip without the Fresnel bulk/weight would be perfect

any ideas?

I did not know that one, thanks

but it looks like at 200W its very close to the Hive (150W) and Broncolor (160W) at more than double the price
and only 92 CRI.

I do not trust manufacturers lumen claims until photometrics get published...

I have heard very mixed reviews about the aputure lights, maybe the v2 is worth a look
but I was hoping to find something in the 300W range like the rayzr7 or Dedolight DLED10

But for bouncing it in a focus softbox something lighter with no optics would be better

Of course the shape and size of the rayzr7 are not working inside a focus softbox, I was hoping for a similar power and light quality in a monolight shape. Don't mind separate power supply as it makes the head lighter and usable on boom arms. Until I find a LED solution I use the Profoto Daylight 400 and hanging a ballast on a stand has never been an issue.

Aputure 300d is nice, but indeed fiddly with all it's pieces. I'm looking forward to when they put out the mkii and combine most of that like they did for the 120d mkii.

I wish someone could release a form factor like the 400w Profoto Daylight HMI. Small head with Led chip heat sink and fan and all other electronics, and power supply in a ballast. Keeps the size and weight down. Easy to work with if high up or on a boom arm.

I'm sure NAB 2019 will see several solutions in this vein, from companies like Hive, etc

Bob's post about the Anthem One sent me down the rabbit hole. Definitely seems like an interesting product, especially for its price.

Aputure 300d is definitely best bang for buck but there's so many pieces. Aside from that, look at HIVE and RAZR. If you can wait, im pretty sure eventually Aputure will release a 300d mark ii.

Check out Relamp by vision smith. Wire up your own cable and you have a small open face. At your own discretion and abilities, of course.

I thought anthem one looked interesting at first but after looking harder and trying it out in person it seems awfully lacking. High price, low CRI except in 4000K, heavy PSU, simplistic control and mounting. I like the concept, but I dont know why their 200W PSU is bigger and heavier than my meanwell 600W LED PSU especially given its lack of functionality.

Aputure 330d Mark II was shown at NAB. Single ballast, 20% brigther and much more. Maybe thats now an option.
