In the interest of fair an accurate information Band Pro Film & Digital is a reseller for ARRI Master Primes, ARRI Ultra Primes, Zeiss DigiPrimes (for B4), Angeniuex Optimos including the Rouge as well as Cooke Zooms and Primes.

Its still a little early to give full details but we will also offer a new line of VERY affordable PL prime lenses (set of 7) that I can talk more about as we get closer to NAB. And here's a unique item...We will have inventory on the day they are announced! Maybe a group buy here on RedUser might be in order, we'll see when we get closer. It's gonna be an interesting 2009!

And for what it's worth we don't rent so we're NEVER in competition with our clients.

I havent been so excited since we first did the DigiPrime project with Zeiss. While these lenses wont be DigiPrime performance they will be very good performance and a VERY VERY affordable price. I wish I could say more now but alas NDAs and such. I promise though that the minute I can, I will.

If it's under $20k affordable then I am VERY interested. Especially considering 7 lenses. Now back into reality. I doubt you all could offer 7 cine style primes for under $20k, but 5 for under $20k (like RED's) would be very attractive!

Nice fantasy Matt While I cannot say yet, I can assure you that 5 lenses will be more than $20K and as far as I know there are no RED primes in a set of 5 for $20K either.

Well, they aren't available yet, but they will be soon. The 300mm T2.9 prime listed in the link above is not included in the set. So that makes 5 for $20K.

Yes, it will be. Can't wait to see new glass on the market. The used prices have been too crazy. The upcoming Optar Illumina T1.2 S35 set looks interesting too.

Okay so maybe I knew you were gonna say that...or someone would.

Common misconception. Companies like Band Pro or Abel sell Master Primes or other products and you most often don't pay more, usually the same, in fact sometimes less than the manufacturers price, AND you get an additional layer of service and support. Someone in addition to the manufacturer to deal with service issues, payment issues, delivery issues etc. Also when you support (by doing business with them) a reputable and experienced reseller you have a very valuable resource when you need help or support in other areas. Its an important relationship for professionals to have in their back pocket. Even if you pay a little more when you buy from them it pays off in spades in an emergency.
Buying smart isn't always buying cheaper, and learning that lesson can be very expensive.
