  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Looking for a Red Epic in Myanmar

er... I don't think there's anywhere in Myanmar. It's still the third world there. I was there earlier in the year and it's like stepping back in time 30 years.
There are quite a few hire shops in Bangkok, Thailand.
Cinerent, here in Kuala Lumpur has a couple of Epics. Unfortunately I'm shooting this weekend otherwise I would come out and help you with mine.

Whatever happens, have fun. It's a beautiful country and the people are wonderful, when they're not killing each other.

Hello Michael,

I just got back from shooting a TVC in Myanmar last month.

I took a Red Epic kit in with me.

There is one Epic in Yangon, and it is privately owned. I did not see or use it - but I knew that it would maybe be an option if mine had trouble.

I would suggest taking your equipment in. (and make sure your Visa documentation is perfect…) it's an interesting place, but very, very hard to work there.

Thanks Ruff & Paul
The Epic located in Rangoon will be our first choice, but we changed the dates and it's not available anymore…
Will try to work with the local crew… I let you know… ;)
Best

Hi Michael,

I'm in Thailand at the moment finishing a commercial shoot.

Drop me an email or pm and I might meet you in Rangoon.

Have full EPIC setup with me.

Hey Ben, this is Renan Ozturk. I'm a cinematographer working with an expedition team, and here in Myanmar. We just spent two months in the northern Kachin jungles where the rain broke my RED Dragon monitor. I arrived in Yangon last night, and am hoping somehow someway to contact the private owner of the one Epic in Yangon to see if I could rent the monitor for 1 week while I travel to Bagan and also film here in Yangon. Do you have his contact info? Thank you very much for your help. Best, Renan (www.camp4collective.com0
