Found an incredible desk for new studio space and badly wanted to get this one (two of them in fact), but the shipping estimates were more than the price of the desk itself. Bummer. Can anyone suggest something that would be similar? Shipping to Nevada, USA.

Was specifically interested in the Xtra Big Slab shown here: http://www.mybigdesk.com/desk.php?cid=6

Thanks!

I don't know how handy you are, but if it were me, I'd go to homedepot and buy the material and build it myself. This is very simple design, and its measurements are very easy to guess by looking at it, that one being about 88"' wide and 30" tall, 36" deep

hi rob take a look at ebay..if you dont want to build it on your own..but thats a normal price for a desk like this...
thanks for the link i realy like the HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE FRAMES :)

In other words, the size of a door. Which is what I use for my desks. Large, cheap -- hard to beat.

Edit: Looks like William beat me to it.

seriously, get two pieces of wood (doors are good), cut one in half, sand & stain... stack. attach. you'll enjoy yourself, especially when you realize you just made a desk and it only cost you $50

if you really want to pay $1,500 for a desk... bring me out there for vacation and i'll build you one, or i'd be happy to show you how to do it. :)

some milk crates and an old door...you got this lol

When I got my own office years at a studio years ago, my desk was a door propped up on two short filing cabinets. It had a great depth to it to allow monitors, keyboards, and room for a good sized Wacom tablet.

Build your own the stylish way! We built all of our edit desks, some attached to the wall on one end with angle iron like this one. Set off of the back wall for cabling and viewing the flat screen on the wall. I built the tops and edged them myself but there are a lot of options. You can see I made the one with casters as a producer desk. Here's where I got my legs/bases.

They tops too and you can mix and match, and it'll only take a few screws to assemble.

I have a Dual15 Workstation from Argosy Consoles for I guess six years now.
I love it. Especially the leather paddings that keep my elbows alive
