  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

looking. for a footage created by dragon

I imagine the first "official" Dragon footage will come from Red and will be listed in the "Recon" section, not the "Shot on Red" section. It might be a week away. It might be weeks away. It will be ready when it is ready.

It's a great question, Sergey!

It really is NOT a good question. If anyone is actually PAYING ATTENTION then you will know that Red is waiting to get the color science right and when it is right, RECON will be the place to find the first real Dragon footage. It isn't going to just sneak into SHOT ON RED. When the footage finally comes, Red will display it loud and proud, as they rightfully should. The requests for Dragon footage is REALLY getting tiresome. Just keep watching RECON and soon enough there will be a new post at the top with a hundred pages of comments. Seriously, give it a rest.

currently we buy into a dream. Grass does not grow quicker, even if you pull it. Red will take it's time to finalize. For Sure the Big Bang on NAB was to keep people excited with the current orders in, they partially secured the financial investment. So let's see, when they will be finally able to deliver. I do not mind, until then the money rests on my bank account and earns, some interest (though not much these days)

I'm still happy with my current EPIC sensor. More than happy in fact.

I'm in know rush for Dragon, I still havent mastered out a single 4k job as yet, (not one of my clients is asking for it as yet), 13 stops is more than enough if you expose correctly... And knowing that everything we edit and grade with won't even take 6k R3D's for another year or so until the SDK is released to software manufactures to upgrade. And knowing that RED's competition have only just finally made and released a 4k camera almost 5 years after RED launched there's, makes me think that RED are still miles ahead when it comes to bang for buck for size.

I've decided to not even book my spot for the dragon upgrade as yet until I know everything else works around it. And also until I actually see real world images coming out of it.
The last thing I need is to be slowed down in EDIT, On-lining and grading with the current software(s) im using.

I'm sure its all coming. But with RED, Ive leant to wait.

All i can say is, Whats the rush.

Happy shooting everyone.

It's actually a perfect joke.

Looks like someone has a case of the Mondays!

Looks like someone has a case of the Mondays!

I suppose. I just assume everyone is actually paying attention. It is almost like being in a room, where most are patiently waiting for Dragon footage and then every 15 minutes, someone runs into the room and yells, "Is there Dragon footage yet." After a while, it just gets a little tiring. They should look around. Check the familiar places. When it is out, it will be OBVIOUS and no one will need to start a new post asking IF or WHEN?

You Melbourne guys are funny :thumbup1:

I like your slider video Matthew. I have the Kessler 5' slider and have only used it once. I need to use it more.

Hi Mark, I have seen your show reels and your work is amazing, very high quality. Your opinion- what's the quality difference between epic and scarlet if the final out put is going to be 2k cinema?
thanks
