Lomo Anamorphics - Too Good to be true?

Sascha, where can I find that little buckle you have on the handle? I assume that is there to connect a strap as safety measure from dropping camera?

Ebay really should be faster - if we can detect patterns, it must be easy for them...

In one of my first classes of freshman year of college, I had a super basic programming course that happened to be taught by one of the foremost authorities on A.I. development. I guess the advanced comp-sci professors took turns doing the super basic class.

He got on a tangent one day for about 60 seconds, talking about A.I. And he said the problem wasn't getting a machine to do something. It was defining something. "First, you define for me 'dirt'. THEN! I will make you the perfect vaccuum." Some patterns are easier for Humans to detect, and some are easier for Computers to detect.

Will do ... he he ... Julia, probably has a beard and smells like a bottle of Vodka ;-)
Heard about the SLR Magic ... the Demo-Video looked very promising ... problem here in switzerland is: We do have big bad Banks but we don't have one single Rental-House that provides Anamorphic Lenses. I would have loved to shoot with HAWKs ... the Vintage 74 Series is amazing ... but the closest to rent these Babies over here is in Germany ;-) ... But Anamorphic Stuff is rather a Hobby ... my Clients don't care bout Anamorphics ;-) fortunately .... wouldn't really like to carry this monster around the whole Day: ;-))

I rent you our Hawk C's, shipping is not to bad. It's a 30kg pellicase for the whole set and I promise we will beat the germans in price. :)

I'm now doing the post for a commercial where they where used down in Malta. It's just a simple commercial. But to me those hawks makes it look more grand than 70mm film. Just love those lenses. Been sitting here playing the clips over and over again with my jaw down, no kidding. Sadly I can not post the the work just yet as it's not aired.

But let me know when you need them and if we have them available I give you a good price. As you can see we have been on the same trails. I was fiddling with an anamorphic projector element for quite some time, then decided to just bite the bullet an pay up for the real deal. No regrets so far... even though our accountant looks very worried :)

That's why you buy/sell on this forum and buy from buyers you can talk to and who have standing in the community. Reputation is everything.

Nut's ebay need to handle these kind of ads a bit quicker, no? It's so many out there it's crazy.

What's the full set of Hawk C's consit of? Just a single lens?

Hej Björn

Ha ha ha ... of course ... you Swedish guys love anas ... and i love your movies ... GSI Göteburg, Arne Dahl, The Bridge, Protectors ... all these thrillers - even if they are tv-series - burn major hollywood cinema production with ease. In terms of Story and in terms of Production ... On the first two Arne Dahls, i had a hard time concentrating on the movie itself, cause it was shot so beautifully and the anas just contributed their part ... Just wonderful ... Swedish Movies rock big time!

And Thanx 4 the offer ... just for testing/anamorphic hobby 900 Swiss Francs per Day is a little steep rate ... but maybe one day i can convince a client to have his spot shot on anas ... and hen i'll get back to you ... what about insurance? (i mean running around with anas worth almost half a million ain't all that confortable) and is it possible to - lets say - rent only 3 lenses ?

Whao, I have not even seen half the films / TV series you are mentioning... but I guess they stepped up in quality lately. Think the Girl with the dragon tattoo, swedish and us version, boosted the film community here with confidence. Also "tinker tailor soldier spy" made made some headlines in the economical pappers about investing in films... before the success of those films there was more talk about how cultural tax fonds needed to be higher for the film industry and such... I also like DP Aril Wretblads "Snabba Cash I and II", translated "quick money" they where also shot with hawks and Mattias Monteros "Hypnotisören" shot with hawks aswell. So I guess you are right, did not think of it before, but I guess the north has fallen for the Ana look more than others.

Mail me when you got a project going and if the lenses are not out I will cut you a good price.

at those prices, they'll be cheap if you have to fly and meet the guy with cash/lenses.. but don't waste your time. he'll get annoyed during a telephone conversation and disappear..

Very suprised this item is still active.

Shows Ebay really can be slow to react.
