When I open REDUser I start with putting in my name and password. I then click on New Posts. I am greeted with a "human verification" dialog. I go back to the login and type my information in again. It then opens the New Posts.
So, why is this PITA process happening? Isn't logging in once enough????????

Also, did the "mark all as read" function disappear? I don't see it.

Mark,

Every time I come to reduser it looks like this.

However, after your have entered your login info once the next time you come to the site and it seems it is asking for login info again just click on the big "REDUSER" logo on the top left and(in my case anyway) you will be refreshed logined to the site.

Rand, Thanks for the response. It didn't work exactly as above but clicking on REDUSER is a good start. I still had to type in my name & password but then REDUSER did let me "in" with only one typing of the name/password (skipping the 'lack of human' business). Maybe REDUSER likes you better than me!! Best regards, Mark

HaHa,

I think we are all equal here on Reduser. After you typed in your username and password, were you given the option by your browser to save them so that you could automatically login with just clicking on the Reduser logo to refresh? I'm using Microsoft Edge by the way.

Rand,
I tried the 'remember me' and it didn't work the first time. I rebooted and tried again. The second time it worked as you indicated above.
I still maintain that Mom and REDUSER likes you best. Mark

HaHaHaHa

Mark, I'm glad that after the refresh it worked somewhat better. :encouragement:

Tonight it didn't work. I needed to type credentials in like always. I hit the 'remember me' button again. We'll see what happens tomorrow.

Alright then Mark. Hopefully this issue will get addressed so this will no longer be a problem for anyone.

I've been having the same issues-- and they're more annoying when on my iphone. I'm sure the updates are for the better overall, with improved security and cleaner, faster navigation, but for now I wind up browsing the site less often.

I think you're not the only one. I don't see alot of the usual suspects around here much anymore. Maybe that will change slowly but surely.

Seeing how we're discussing REDUser:
1) Does anyone know what happened to the "mark all as read" feature previously available? Now, every time I log in there are numerous pages such that the "new posts' are not separated from the ones already read.
2) the "remember me" function didn't. I simply logged in like always.
3) Kind of like M Harvey above, the new app has some features but, when the old MO can't be used and things don't really work, it is somewhat of a turn-off. These "features" probably won't stop me from logging in.

Mark,

It's not really Red's fault. From what I understand from Brent, the old Website used vBulletin v4 which is a Site Builder tool for creating a community website. However Version 4 had reached its "end of life" so no new updates. vBulletin v5, the latest version that Reduser is using now dropped some features that where included in V4 which may or may not be included in the future in V5

Rand, Thanks. Mark

I came back with an edit as there is another thing I don't understand. This thread was on page 1 of the New Posts forum. When I commented with the 'Thanks' it disappeared from the list. I found it under the Red Discussion forum. In the past a reply to a post would cause the post to jump tot he top of the New Posts. Now it disappears to the forum of original posting. Is this a bug or intentional?

BTW: IMO not having the 'mark all as read' tool means that the New Posts list is just the recents and not necessarily NEW from the last reading. This, to me, is a bother as 6 pages of new posts cannot be easily subdivided into unread and read.

Mark,

I must confess to not ever using the "Mark all as read" tool. And as I mentioned above, in vBulletin v5 which Reduser is currently based, that feature may be gone for now or forever.

In my "User Setting" under my name I usually have these boxes checked in the "Notification" area especially the " Subscribe when postings" box. Every time you post in a thread you are automatically subscribed to that thread and you will see a number inside a Red box under "NOTIFICATIONS" if there was any new activity in those subscribed to threads.. You will be able to go to the "Subscription" tab in the top left corner and filter out how you want to see every thread you have posted in.

Or you can just use " LATEST ACTIVITY" tab and use your select filters to view those

Rand, I see your workaround but it isn't obvious to me why any response I make to a thread from the New Posts list disappears from the New Posts list upon posting. I'd would expect my response post to be near the top of the New Post list if I post and then immediately check the New Post list. Your responses show up in New Posts - hence, I can read and respond but mine go to the forum of the original post.
The REDUser tool is now different and not as convenient as it used to be (IMO). Mark

Mark,

have you ckecked your "SORT BY" and "ORDER" settings under "NEW POSTS"?

Mark,

Another thing that I have noticed with the new website is whereas with the old website when I have posted to a thread it showed up almost instantaneously in the new website thread it may take a minute to show up as a new post. Maybe it's just that delay and many other people posting that someone else's post shows up before yours. Or maybe in the new Website the " LASTEST ACTIVITY" area is the best place to see the newest posts and not the "NEW POSTS" area.

EDIT,

I just tried with my new post and when I chose another " SORT BY" method other than "DATE-LAST UPDATE" and then back to " DATE-LAST UPDATE" it showed my post as the newest post
