  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Yes, I just reinstalled the Red Final Cut Studio 2 Installer.

I was getting the "idle" message in the panel at the bottom left-hand corner of the Log and Transfer window, where - when first opened - it says "0 Clips Queued - Idle".

You might check to make sure you have the most recent (stable) versions of all that software. I have run into problems when I had a slightly outdated version of Red Cine, for instance. (Not this same problem, but it's worth checking). That includes the FCP Plugin.

I reinstalled the whole system and it worked perfectly....until i installed redcine...now Log and Transfer doesn't work anymore with both red and P2
 
Same problem here nothing loads in my L&T...however after waiting 5-7 min the footage appears as stated by other people in this same thread
Everything is well installed... don't understand what is happening ...
 
I just got the same problem, any help plzzzzz.
Cant load anything in the log and transfer window.
Just re instal quicktime codec 3.5 and RedAlert 3.6 uninstall RedCine
Any ideas?

BTW: my edit with proxies sent it to color just go crazy, some clips are nonesense...
 
For the latter problem, use Colorfixer by H. G. Daun.

For the rest I don't know, works fine here, sorry.
 
Tks nomad, the l&t seems to be solved...by it self, just waited about 5 min.

Now i have the following questions:

- I just did a FC sequence with proxies, then exported an XML for l&t, dont know if it works that easy, couse went i batch capture it opens the log and capture window not the log and transfer window, any ideas?

- We are shooting a documentary next week, 20 days in the Colombia jungle, so we decided to go with a lot of space...well not A LOT, just 7TB, but choosing material in the field. So here's the deal, what is the best way to work it? Which workflow should we use, L&T or proxies?

If the L&C opens instead of the L&T, you probably have some stills in your project or anything non RED.

Proxies are fine as long as you use Colorfixer before going to Color.

But are you working from laptops or a MacPro? If it's a laptop, I' rather use Clipfinder and convert the footage to something like DVCProHD in 720 instead of trying to work with proxies. Well, maybe that's just me…

We believe this is a UUID problem (internal to some files) and we are fixing it for the next release.
 
Same problem here with FCP L&T. Clips show up after 7 mins. By the way, what does UUID stand for? Is there a patch for this problem? if so, is there an ETA for this patch?

Universally Unique Identifier...it's a code used to uniquely identify a clip. Don't know the status of this one right off the top of my head.

Does this update mean a new version of the FCS plugin with a new Quicktime codec supporting the new colour science in FCP and Color might be imminent …?
 
R3D Installer

Well, since were on the subject, perhaps some one could help me.

I have the right machine, MACBOOK INTEL 4Gb with Final Cut Studio II (FCP Pro 6.0.5) and OSX Leopard version 10.5.7.

I downloaded and installed the R3D codec with a green OK sign so it should be working. Yet when I open the LOG & TRANSFER window, the RED codec option does not appear in the Preference window....Any one have a idea where I went wrong ?:sad:

Did you just install the RED codec, or use the Final Cut Studio installer?

Andre,

Download the codec and there is an installer package or it. You need to INstall the QT (it's an auto installer) and then its a good idea to do a restart.
