  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

List the 5 most important things you want from scarlet

1. 2k 12 bit RAW
2. Interchangable lenses (pref SLR mount of some kind)
3. Solid state OR HD record
4. "A-minima" size or smaller
5. Sub $6000 price

Nice configuration. This is exactly what I`m thinking of.

I dont want to find the scarlet in April between Sony Pmw Ex-1 and the Sony
HVR-Z7E !
That would mean a stop for the red revolution !

It has to be the most elite Tool for TV production and Journalism !
Otherwise people will continue buying sony because of the global service

1) 12 stops
2) ISO 800
3) DVCHDPRO II

I am going to sell my HVX and my car if this comes true !

1 1080p and 720p low noise at low light
2 Nikkor/Canon lens mount
3 Solid state (High frame rate) and HD recording option (Lower frame rate)
4 As lower price as possible
5 s35mm sensor size

This could be quiet a huge step forward for Indie... you do not need "much more"...

- S16 sensor
- 1080p
- PL or Arri Bayonet mount
- ~11 stops of latitude (important)
- Price around $10,000 US

1-$2000, why that would be awesome, BUT,

realistically speaking, IF she's gonna have 2k, interchangable lenses, hand held or over shoulder shooting, Big pocket sized. then we can expect $4000 to $7000.

1. $2,000 USD.
2. 2K RAW from 1 to 120fps (with Integrated Intervalometer) to CF Card.
3. 18-85mm zoom (s16 DOF) all manual focus
4. Weather-Resistant
5. Heavy! Heavy! Heavy! 5 pounds at least. (Heavy=Steady)

I agree, it depends on features. BUT... my point was that pocket cameras by definition are generally very very cheap cameras. A $2,000 pocket camera would be a very expensive one.

Examples: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/shop/1871/Camcorders.html

1) 1080 60p
2) solid state recording on CF cards.. or even 32 gb micro drives.
3) autofocus
4) 20X zoom. with macro ability
5) onboard audio

tha's what i expect when you say pocket size
________
LAUNCH BOX VAPORIZER

Howdy Red Team! Can't wait to see the specs at NAB. If these list-items will apply to scarlet, I will definitely be a buyer and promoter.

- minimum 2k, 4k would be excellent
- 4 CHANNEL AUDIO!!
- detachable lens
- 35mm size sensor (possible to fit into pocket size cam, see 35 still cams)
- auto mode available (also auto focus)

1)SMALL, pocket-able but with HDMI? For framing and decent picture preview.
2) LIGHT FOR DIFFERENT MOUNTING POSSIBILITIES
3) FIXED LENS with 16X zoom .
3) HIGH SPEED on CF up to 100 p/s.
4) HIGH RES, 2K or 3K.
5) LOW LIGHT SENSITIVITY up from 1000 ASA

My Three Cents

My Three Cents

My Three Cents on the desires list...

2k
1080P
Nikon Mount or PL Mount (I don't want to put a huge lens on a tiny camera)
24 bit 48KHz Audio at least 2 tracks (TA3 In is OK)
Real SMTPE Timecode

Too me while it isn't a "Prosumer" camera I really wish it would kill the HVX200 with a lens mount. While it won't be good for my business I would be very happy with a camera like that.
