I find original handles, like sliding top handle and side handle, very robust and comfortable. But, working with really heavy rigs sometimes, I have a reasonable question do they have a supported weight limit? I can't seem to find this info anywhere.

By saying heavy rig - I mean something like Arri Allura 18-80, supported by heavy 19mm rods and a reasonable-weight custom machiened baseplate, with a Teradek Bolt on one side, Chrosziel FIZ on another, Dual TV-Logic 058 monitors on heavy-duty magic arms, a dual 190Wh V-locks, and some Sony-style batts on monitors, a clip-on Mattebox (5,6x5,6) with some filters on. And all of that on an Easy-Rig with Flowcine Serene, running during a huge stadium-concert gig.

So, what's the limit? Sure, safety wiring is a thing on such type of rigs, but I'd like to be sure I'm in the safe area. Like this much KG is a OK, this much - on your own risk.

Difficult to specify. I guess as its also very depending on how far away the weight is from the handle.
also the quality of the screws, threads etc matters and most of all the inerta. if you fixate the camera by the handle and give it a quick enough pull, then yes something will break the more weight that is in play the less quick acceleration needed.

so if it does not feel right dont do it.

and always carry a camera package in more than one point.
