This commercial was made for a competition at Liberty University. My wife is enrolled there and I helped her put this together. Check it out...rate it ...comment on the facebook page if you don't mind. (its a facebook app so you'll have to give it permission/access to you your stuff)......if she wins...she gets a full years free tuition!!!

Nice job! The only things I really noticed to be careful for is the dolly at the beginning couple of shots was a little bumpy and the tripod head a wee bit stiff, but it really wasn't too bad at all. The only other thing would be to be careful with some lighting not to be to harsh (can look kinda video if you're not too careful). Other than that, good job! Paced nicely

Thanks Brennan!

Yeah...I was using a cheaper slider (wish I had a dolly) and the camera was sitting on a cheap head made for dv cameras...all I had to work with...was surprised it came out as smooth as it did.

Lighting is definitely not my strong point. What would you recommend to be less harsh? Just lowering the light levels..less fill...less head/rim light?

Mostly just diffusion and i generally say no l.e.d.'s on my set up. Theu are cheaper but they are always to harsh, bright, and hard to meter/white balance. Just maybe rent a standard light kit either dedo or arri and use a lot of reflectors and use your white balance to make color temp adjustments using the custom kelvin scale.

One thing I noticed was that it felt like the scene in the restaurant lingered a bit long on the folks at the table, bring an unnecessary focus to them... maybe cut to her on the iPhone a bit earlier? Good job and good luck.
