  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Letus Helix - Not for Red

I've used Movi 10/15, Ronin, and Helix now and the Helix is still the favorite for my style of work (Single operator mostly). Handles heavy RED setups no problem. If balanced correctly, any throbbing in the motors is just a profile settings issue, nothing to do with them not being able to handle the weight. I found the defaults not to be great for my particular setup so it's important to dial it all in, but they are good to place to start anyway.

Sorry but there are a lot of people around, including myself, that would dispute your claim. Balance is the key and it takes awhile to achieve. There is nothing inherent about the Helix that won't handle a RED set-up. Mine is in the area of 19 lbs.

Terry, are you using the Jr or the standard Helix?

Is there any way that the OP's title can be changed by a moderator? I think Letus deserves a better title for the thread since many will just read titles and one person's experience creates a negative marketing impact. As a Helix owner, I want to see Letus continue to thrive.

Side note to all future thread starters... really consider the title of your thread, to be clear and fair. If it is a question, put a question mark.

"Letus Helix - Not for Red" is just an unfair and inaccurate thread title.

A better title would have been:

"My difficult experience with a Letus Helix and Scarlet MX. Advice?"

Actually I dont mind, it compels me to read it and come up with my own opinion.

And honestly I like it when the real users come out to defend.

I am currently helping a friend and she couldnt find any info on the net that would help push her.

This thread actually helps her a lot.
