  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Letus Gimbal

Current price is... ONE million dollars!

But seriously...
The 3 axis is at $3,975
The 1 axis is at $2,675

That's the numbers we have locked in right now and will at least be guaranteed for anyone here. Still waiting to hear back on final pricing for the 4th axis setup. FYI, that doesn't include a battery so you would be on your own for that. Everything else would be included though. We are looking at making a custom case too for those who want it. That will probably be a couple hundred bucks additional for a nice Nanuk or Pelican case with custom foam insert.

Everything will be built and shipped from Portland, OR.

For the link to the deposit page, please PM me as we don't want it posted publicly yet.

Oh my!! Movi pricing $18K+ . . . not sure if they got the DJI / Letus memo

A deposit of $795 will reserve a Helix for you. That deposit is, of course, fully refundable up to the ship date. When we are ready to ship, anyone who made a deposit will receive an email along with a $900 site credit to be used toward the purchase of a Helix (any configuration you want).

So, the Group Buy price is $105 off retail?

Sounds good Aaron!

What's the time schedule? When, approximately would it be shipping and when do you think we could see some actual footage by and of it?

I understood it as we get $900 credit(discount) to use directly for the purchase or any accessories that we one might want to buy from their website.

No - I think for your $795 deposit, you get $900 off list for whatever you decide to buy.

I think Brandon is right, $105 off.

Hahaha!

Im considering joining your GB and this one. I have use for both. Still got enough green in my pocket to buy a scarlet(compared to go Movi) ;)

We may have weakened our negotiating position with sheer enthusiasm. :-( With the 4th axis we may be getting near Ronin pricing. :confused1:

You no love me anymore Terry? I'm loving the innovation and competition that serves the RU's community!!

Yeah, $105 off is probably the smallest discount ever offered for a Group Buy here.

Here is a little update as to what we have worked out for a reservation system. We have decided to keep the link to the deposit/reservation exclusive to the REDUser.net members initially. This will give you all a chance to reserve a Helix before it is released to the rest of the world. That will give everyone here a couple of days jump start as a way of saying thanks for all of the great feedback.

When we are ready to ship, anyone who made a deposit will receive an email along with a $900 site credit to be used toward the purchase of a Helix (any configuration you want). We are trying to gauge initial demand to make sure we are scaling our production up accordingly. This deposit method helps us determine if our projections are on target.

Orders will be shipped in the same order deposits were made. About a week in advance of shipping, we'll let everyone know so they can get final payments in.

So, that's what we have come up with. We think that's a fair way to handle it :) Sound good?

Count me in! Please us know when the link to put deposits is live.

Terry, we will discuss more but the custom case *may* be an option. The biggest thing is getting a jump in line :) But we are still working out all of the numbers on this end. $105 isn't much but we don't have traditional pricing to start with. There isn't as much "meat on the bone" as some companies have in their product pricing.

Anyway, we will of course look at any way we can to help out. We still need to finalize some prices on this end before we can lock anything in for a group buy. The current offer is the starting point. The main thing you are getting now is early access. We'll keep working on a way to sweeten the deal for our friends here!

I know we are about 3 weeks out on the CNC parts as of right now. Mid to late May should be a safe estimate on ship date if everything stays on track.

Aaron do you have prototypes to show off before then?

Is there a battery mount or is it just an input that we have to find a way to feed power to? What batteries do you recommend?

We have the prototypes from the show. Frame is different but functionality is the same. Those are in Portland but they will be out and about at a few demo days around the country. I use an Anton Bauer Dionic 90 mounted to a cheese plate that I clip on my belt. That's a nice clean way to power it without having to carry the weight of the battery on your arms.

For those of you making deposits, please put "REDUser.net" in the customer notes if you think of it. That will help us out. Thanks!

Paid... Am I first?

Is there a way a way to have 5v power and HD-SDI? Lots of people here use Paralinx or similar wireless video which is HDMI based and needs 5v power and if you throw the 1-axis gimbal on a Steadicam sled then you need an HD-SDI feed to the monitor at the bottom of the sled.
