While the Double Helix can handle up ward 40 lbs payload for bigger cameras, if you are looking for a 20 lbs payload set up, this version may be the answer.

Very interesting. I would love to see a video of this rig moving. How adjustable is the ring as I fear it may interfere with lens motors.

If you are using the easyRig, I'd suggest using the 4 axis as is. This is mostly geared toward Steadicam use.

I had the opportunity to fly the Double Helix on a steadicam recently and found it interesting. But overkill for RED Weapons and Alexa Minis. This looks really promising.
What is the weight of the unit?
Can it do HD thru the slipring?
When will it ship?

the addition of the front ring with the bearing doubles the rigidy of the Helix.

It's standard SDI and not HD-SDI

Hey GT, it looks like you guys have finally solved the only issue I've had with the helix, and that is micro vibrations that can show up. Is the new 1axis pro compatible with combining it with the current 3 axis rig? Meaning can I swap out my current helix for the new Helix pro? Or is there an upgrade path to have the front ring on the pro be mounted on the current Helix?

Stefan, actually I thought of you when we rolled this out. We can modify your current Helix to this configuration but we recommend not to change back and forth between the 3 axis and 1 axis Pro since it will require handling of the internal wiring and accessing the main board (which would effectively nullify the warrant).

That's great news GT! I would definitely love to look into having my helix modified to the new setup with the 3 axis. I honestly have not looked into going back to steadicam and a 1 axis setup since I have been using the Helix. Steadicam still has it's place, but I've been loving the fast work that can be done with the helix. So having the helix in a permanent 3axis setup would be just fine for me! I'll email you and see how we can move forward.
