I'm still hoping that on November 3rd RED will announce not one camera but a line of cameras under the SCARLET name, and this line would consist of at least two options. And that ex-SCARLET S35/current EPIC-S will be among these options.

That's why my vote is for "over 11K"

Same here, I hope that they're releasing 2 Scarlets to suit both price ranges.
A fixed lens 2/3's Scarlet and an S35 interchangable. I'd probably go for the 2/3's and spend the extra money on accessoires.

Find me any other camera that shoots 3k video at 120 FPS for under $5k. That speaks nothing else to the loads of other reasons to buy RED.

There used to be a camera that recorded over 6mp 60 times a second (forget if it was 3k) for less than $1000 around 2007. My $139 dollar camera can do similar in raw but the feature is not enabled. My 8 year old camera has Hdr. The $599 Sony nex5n would have similar unenabled capability, probably even 100+ fps 3k and a s35 sized sensor. The upcoming couple of hundred dollar personal camera I am looking at should be internally capable of 120 fps 3k. If you want Redcode like compression then you are probably out of luck, most are probably not programmable or powerful enough, though the last camera might be able to be programmed to do it.

Helps to know something about how much things can actually be done for.

Red is not worried about what others "Dont" want to enable, and is our freind, so it is possible. But Red has a top quality design that they have spent heaps of money on, and limited volume to pay for it. So I didn't shoot that low. $2k is a basic point and shoot 3k fixed camera on its own. $4k or $5k is 4k, because that is the future, especially with Reds software and Lyto like 3d capabilities. A camera you will want to hold onto, and all your professional freinds will want to check out and own. In a few years time people should view 3k differently as I did since 2008, especially when 4k goes so consumer and 8k comes out, 4k will still be standard. So the 4k solution is more valuable and worth a lot to me. s35 is more professional and more valuable again. I expect Red maybe increasing spec with increased price.

There is room for three cameras, base line, s35 (that can take 2/3rd lens), a fixed and possibly ff35. A ff35 can take 2/3 or s35 lens with cropping again, so could replace the s35 model too, even the fixed. That would make Canon ... itself. I'm going to make a radical suggestion, maybe there will be just two cameras, maybe a ff35 and a fixed, or maybe just a ff35.

I can almost feel the chill going down Canon's spine if this happens. They sell quality but feature limited product at a price. A real competitor sells quality and features at a price.

I think 15% are lucky enough to get scarlet ... may be 20% in reality who can now afford 14K plus..

With competition being systems like the Sony F3 ($14,000) and the Panasonic AF100 ($4,700) - those prices without lenses, and with the Scarlet having higher recording resolution and compatibility with the RED modular accessories, I would think a more realistic price for a basic shooting set-up might be around $10,000. I mean, RED is not going to want to give it away, and with the competition's prices to gauge from, $10,000 seems more a likely market price. Maybe we will see usable set-ups falling between a $8,000-$14,000 price range. $6,000 sounds to me like wishful thinking. The body alone, maybe, but I kind of doubt it.

A little over my basic shooting price prediction - but I was thinking 8x and 2/3.
