  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Lenses for kidneys. Helium needs new glasses.

Very nice! That Leica color and drawing style... 60 Macro was my gateway from a few years back and still used frequently. Can't wait to work these LRs on Epic-W.

Thanks, Mark. Indeed, all Leica-Rs are nice. But the 60 Macro is fun to shoot, you can go from super close up to portait and landscape.
And to be able to pull out 30MP (8K WS) stills that are better than the files from my 40MP medium format is amazing.

I'm still waiting for my 8K upgrade Helium and/or VV... But I finally had my hands on an 8K Helium last week and shot with both the Otus set that were rented with the camera and my Xenon FF primes. Had a chance to test the RED 85mm RPP while I was at it. All I can say is that I'll be picking up the Otus lenses. Just love them. Phil made me a fan of them with his use of them on the Dragon VV sensor and they just sing when on Helium. I was also very pleasantly surprised with my Xenon primes. I've been contemplating selling them if I end up sticking with Helium and not going to the VV sensor, but they jut look so good on Helium. From what I'm seeing of Helium overall, and I know the color science isn't completely done yet, but I'm liking it even more than Dragon. I guess I should say that the 85mm RPP looked great too, but they're just so technically sharp and somewhat clinical looking -- they really do have a look to them that's somewhere in between the Ultra Primes and Master Primes. And while I absolutely loved their look on the 4K and 5K MX sensors, as we have gotten to 6K and now with 8K, I find the extra sharpness to be unwanted at times. The Otus don't give the sterile clinical razor sharp look and yet all the details are there and the bokeh features are smoother, or maybe seem to have a bit more dimension to them. Probably going to be selling my RPPs. Not that I don't still like or appreciate them, but it's just time to make room for the new. Or in other words, I have too much glass and if I expand the collection any further the wife will probably murder me.
