Hi guys
Is there a way to get lens data into meta data on raptor I’m shooting a film soon and post have asked for meta data but I’m shooting on none LDS lenses

I’ve done this before on a monstro and panaspeeds. Using a cmotion and its lens files.

There is a neat system from a company called DCS. They have an encoder box that can inject the lens data into Raptor via the EXT port (or control port if you have a breakout box/ cable), I believe it can also support Preston motors, not sure about CMotion motors.
I'd give their site a look for more details.

Hmmm interesting. Is that the only way to do it. Seems like a big box to add to the build where a year ago on the previous camera I did not have to do that.

As Björn said above, if the lenses support Cooke /i then the RED RF to PL mount would support it without the need for any other boxes. If its a 'dumb' lens that then the DCS box or CMotion would need to update their device to communicate with the Raptor.
I know the CMotion has Raptor camera control, just not sure if they added the ability to do lens meta-data injection, you would probably need to speak with CMotion.

I recieved this from C motion

Hey Devin,
for all RED cameras you will need a CAM (7p) - RED CTRL/D-Tap cable and in addition the camera control and data feed licenses. I've sent you a screenshot of a sample setup with a RED camera.

I hope I was able to help you! 🤘🏼

But we had no luck with any pass through of meta data.
