  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Here are some frame grabs from a project I'm shooting on Amira and a set of Duclos-moded Leica-R's that I bought from Mark M. Love these lenses and they grade so well. This is all Summicron 35 and 90.

Hey Leica people, I'm preparing to buy some lenses from Mark M, and have only just now realized I haven't actually tested the R 100mm 2.8 macro for myself. I've seen many example of photos which look stunning, though yet to come across many photos that demonstrate how close in the lens can get. Does anyone have examples or a link to photos with this lens, that show how close to the subject this lens can focus? I'm after something that can get right in there, so not 100% sure if this is the right choice as I'm yet to see extreme macro examples. Thanks as always!

Hey Josef, I've already emailed you a response to this but thought I'd sum it up here in case anyone else is wondering... The 100 2.8 apo macro gets as close as 1:2 as-is. To get true 1:1 the best 'lossless' solution is the ELPRO 1:1, which can be found for about $500 these days. What's nice about the ELPRO is it screws on the front filter thread of the 100 (vs the rear/mount) so can use it with no issues after a mount conversion.

Thanks to this amazing thread i have invested in my own Leica-R set. I couldn't be more happy! They are simply amazing glass!
But i have a question for you experts here: i frequently use my(converted to EF with Leitax) set with a Sony FS7 with a Metabones Speedbooster, and my latest investment, a Cron 35, extends into the glass of the speedbooster, and therefor keeps it from hitting infinity. My other lenses 28mm El, 50mm Cron, 90mm Cron and 135mm El works as a charm. This is ofcourse a bummer for use with this combo! Cause i absolutely love the 35 cron!!
Question is, anybody know if the 35mm Elmarit would work? I know this might be a long shot on this forum, but i thought it was worth a shot.
