  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Last time...

first time posters who have nothing better to do than troll go bye-bye.

so i will NEVER get an epic-x ?

so i will NEVER get an epic-x ?

This is not accurate. There will be a cutoff date coming up fairly soon.

Jim

does that mean, if a red one is not affordable for me now, i will NEVER can buy the epic-x

:-(

Norbert: Well if you're lucky, someone may sell you their Epic-X if they want to upgrade later on... but you will probably have to cross your fingers and wait a while.

Norbert,

I believe the cut-off date is for the R1 owners to get the full $17,500 towards the Epic-X if they decide to turn in their R1's. I believe you can still purchase an Epic-X for the full price after the R1 owners have had a crack at purchasing their Epic-X.

I don't work for Red so I may be mistaken. I'm sure someone will pipe in soon from Red to answer your question.

I seriously doubt the package would include all the modules. That was not the case when it was announced. But would include some modules to make a well rounded kit. There were also a few other minor capability differences between the EPIC S35 and the "X" model. But I'm reluctant to even bring them up. All that info has been removed from RED.COM long ago and like most things, I'm sure a lot has changed. It's all speculation until we get the official details anyhow.

Actually, that's interesting.... I just checked the website, I'm pretty sure that they added the new text to the description (I don't remember seeing it before):

EpicX: "Brain, CF module, Battery module and I/O module" - NO REDMOTE

But the EpicX render below the description still features Redmote. (?)

I think we are going to get a nice surprise anyway, and Jim has pointed very heavily to that.

Early on it was some modules for free with the Epic-X upgrade path and without blowing out expectations, when has RED ever gone backwards with what they plan to offer? He only recently posted that everyone is going to WISH they owned a RED ONE. This tends me to think there may be a little 'extra' surprise in there for current owners:) Just hopin...

This has come up before and Jim has said that Epic-X does come with a Redmote. Unless that has changed.

This will be the last time I post this. Those that don't own a RED ONE will wish they did.

Jim
Jim, if there is to be a cutoff on the RED ONE trade-in for Epic deal. When the cutoff is announced please give thirty days notice. Please don't announce that the cutoff, "just happened".
