  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Large Thunderbolt RAID for Editing & Thunderbolt enclosure for REDROCKET

Ok, so it's time to move up to a dedicated RAID setup. I've been doing my homework and came to the conclusion that the Promise Technology Pegasus, the setup I was originally considering, is not the way to go. Now I am looking at Maxx Digital and Sonnet. Can someone explain what the difference is between Maxx Digital ThunderRAID 24TB and Sonnet 24TB fusion, besides one being better-looking and twice the price of the other? The Maxx Digital states read and write speeds between 550- 600 MB/sec, while Sonnet states 725 MBps read and 640 MBps. Is that it or is the Sonnet also may more reliable, etc? I own the Sonnet Fusion F2 and find it great. I have never used anything from Maxx Digital but many on this thread have recommended their custom setups and customer support.
