Sorry for the long delay. The Laowa OOOM 25-100mm T2.9 is finally getting shipped. S35+ coverage (6k HD covered on Monstro). Par-focal. 1.4x FF Expander and 1.33x Rear Anamorphic Expander will be released in a few months. Both of them are specially designed for the OOOM.

Some demo footage for your consideration.

Features

Comprehensive 4x zoom range

A versatile, all-in-one lens. From ultra wide to telephoto.

Super35+ coverage

A bigger super35 covering 4k UHD on Alexa Mini and 8k HD on Red Helium / 5k HD on Red Gemini

Parfocal design

The focus remains the same no matter zoom in or out. Your subject will remain sharp and in focus.

Extremely low focus breathing

Your composition will remain the same when changing the focus.

Constant T2.9 with super close focus

The large constant T2.9 allows you to shot in low light situation through-out the whole zoom range. The lens can focus as close as 60cm (~2 feet) which give you more opportunities for a creative shot.

Full Frame Compatible via 1.4x Expander (To be released in 3 months)

A 1.4X FF Expander is carefully designed to match with the OOOM with no degradation on image quality. A quick switch button on the lens allows easy conversion of focal length scale.

Rear 1.33X Anamorphic Adapter (To be released in 3 months)

A 1.33X Rear Anamorphic Adapter is also designed to create cinematic 2:39:1 widescreen ratio when paired up with the OOOM.

The Look

We are trying to deliver a zoom lens which blends in the characters of both modern and vintage optics. The OOOM is designed to offer a beautiful vintage look in its colour and bokeh. The image is not overly contrasty nor flat but with good sharpness found in modern lens. It also renders a natural healthy skin tone and silky smooth transition.

is this a ful lframe lens? I had a customer looking for a reasonably priced FF zoom

expanders usually take 1-1.5 stops away. no matter what they tell you. And affect image due both to enlarging the image and additional lenses added to the system, not necessarily matched exactly to the optical design of one particular lens.

Yep we are also introducing a 1.4x FF expander which is specially designed for the OOOM and so the impact on image is minimal. It did take a way 1 stop of light but it will work much better than other expanders in the market.

More demo footages. The key of the OOOM is the range it provides. One lens does it all.

Covers 35+ (covered 6K HD on Monstro which is 33.04mm) with no expander on.

The FF expander and Rear Anamorphic Expanders are really smart. Congrats on this lens.

Thanks Nick. I hope the range and expandability of our lens will be appealing to DPs.

From what I've seen of test footage it looks like this will
have a very nice look to it. Not too "crispy" or contrasty.

Very excited to try this.

Any chance of adding an aspherical wide angle adapter to the accessory mix? Drop the range to say 15-60mm?

Thanks Curtis! Will let you know when more lens is open for testing!

I think i did read some similar request a few days ago and checked with my engineers but the answer is negative. The front will be HUGE and the quality wont be good either. :(
